2x 15" help?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to get 2 Fi Bl 15's in a vented box. i have had trouble finding a rms rating for them. in multiple places i have heard its 1000 but im not sure. i was going to use 3200w Hifonics colossus, at 2 ohms bridged to power the 2, but now im not shure. if this is overpowered could anyone point me in the direction of a good amp that will give full power to my 2 15's at 2 ohms.

on the site under "many other custom options," it says that the rms rating is 1500* watts, this is what makes me unsure.

(but now that im looking at it again, i might be reading the site wrong)

and if that isnt right, than under the options it says 3-5 cuft, for a ported box. would i be able to get away with 2.77(per sub)?

also the cutout for the box i have is 13+15/16ths, will this workout for the subs?

any help is appreciated,

thanks

Why are you wanting to run at 2 ohms then?

because of the options that the fi gives me, but do you know the rms rating on the fibl 15's? thats my big problem.

It's going to be a ton cheaper to order the subs in a dual 1ohm configuration that will let that amp see a 1 ohm load. Getting more than a 2000 watts to a 2 ohms load is expensive, just make sure you have done electrical upgrades. What does your electrical system consist of?

i have a 220 amp alternator, with yellow top batterie, plus big 3 upgrade, just waiting to put in 2 15's.

-whats the differance between full powered 1ohm and full powered 2ohm?

-would the rms rating be 1000 or 1500?

- will they be less power?

im trying to learn as i go. i just need some assistance. :)

Power will be cheaper at 1 ohm. The RMS rating is 1500, but that is NOT a requirement. I'm not sure what you mean by "will they be less power?".

What are your goals with this setup?

whats the different between 1 ohm, and 2 ohm full powered. is there a sound difference.

and yes it is for the civic, why?

is it worth the money to go for 2ohm?

No difference. Where do you plan on putting two 15s?

If you really are trying to learn, check out bcae1.com Ohms only affect how much resistance the amps sees, there is no difference in the way it would sound.

You will be WAY better off running 12's or a single 15. What are the specs on the box you built?

Your port is only 4" wide?

it woule be better to have a large volume for each sub (such as 2 12's with that 2.7 ft^3 each) than what you want to do. and look at Crescendo amps, im planning on upgrading my fully loaded 2010 18 q to a 18 sp4 and im planning on getting the bc3500, cheaper than AQ or a SAZ and you wont hear a difference. biggrin.png

Crescendo BC3500d at 1 ohm should be plenty. I would suggest beefing up the electric by Big 3, and couple batteries in the rear if you don't have it yet.
