12Q with I-heat ring & High QTS enclosure

Recommended Posts

Hello all, need some input from the pros. Currently have my Q in a box from obcon (1.25 cuft before displacement) that a friend gave me. The enclosure is made of paperish mdf that basically turns to dust so its time I get a proper box. Now my question is, should i make it for the max 1.5cuft after displacement? Want to keep the notes tight. Also I have it powered with a rockford t1000-1bdcp (birth 1366 @ 2ohms).

Thanks in advance for the help.

On the store page it says "Sealed box: .8-1.5 High QTScuft". But does that mean I should have 1.5cuft since I selected the high qts option?

I'm currently at 1.09cuft after displacement. Like I mentioned before, the current box seems kind of cheap mdf (turns to dust when you rub the side). Hopefully someone with the same options can chime in.

sounds like you need about a .5 cu ft more anyways, just build a new box with 3/4 mdf. Its fairly simple to build a sealed box. Experiment with box size, and positioning in your car.
