Sundown X Series 10/12/15/18 Pre-Order : ETA June 2013

Recommended Posts

Our ETA is roughly the end of June on these; as always this can vary a bit based on parts supplier production times, transit times, customs times, etc. Based on our average shipping time that is our best estimate.

That being said this pre-order will ONLY be open to the public until April 15th, 2013 -- OR until a given size / coil configuration sells 50% of the quantity being produced. I do not want to be out of stock instantly so we are running this much shorter than our other pre-orders.

This pre-order is for the USA ONLY -- check with your distributor if you are outside of the USA; if you do NOT have a distributor in your country you can check with us. The below rates are shipping in the continental 48 states; e-mail us or your dealer for AK or HI pricing.

Pricing as follows :

PART # // REGULAR MAP // PRE-ORDER RATE

X-10 (D2/D4) -- $329 -- $280
X-12 (D2/D4) -- $349 -- $300
X-15 (D2/D4) -- $389 -- $330
X-18 (D2/D4) -- $409 -- $350

You can pre-order from any participating local or online dealer OR directly with us via Paypal to sundownz@sundownaudio.com -- you MUST include a note stating EXACTLY what you are ordering.

As is typical with a pre-order the sale is final ; make sure you are not placing yourself in a bad financial situation by pre-ordering. Do not pre-order if you are on a tight schedule ; the dates are NOT set in stone. An adjusted date is not considered a valid reason to request a pre-order refund. If you have ANY doubt about waiting or your financial situation DO NOT pre-order.

----------

The X series is our 1250 RMS rated line -- they feature a 3" diameter CCAW round wire coil and our new frame, spider, surround, and cone platform. Linear x-max is around ~30mm one-way by 70% BL with a total mechanical clearance of 50mm in the motor.

These woofers are designed excel in high output DAILY low frequency applications. If you are looking for a burp driver or a driver to excel on “higher” bass frequencies; this is NOT it. We will offer SPL burp style re-cone kits for them at a late date – but the stock format is not made for that.

* Essentially looks like a "mini-Z" style motor... 190mm magnet vs. 220mm on the Z series / 66mm tall stack vs. 75mm tall stack / thinner steel / less expensive round wire coil vs. flat wire in the Z, etc, etc.

Preliminary Specifications :
** The production models have a stiffer surround which will result in an FS about 5-10 Hz higher, higher Qts, etc. They will also have a slightly tighter gap which increases the BL a bit **

I love the surrounds on these, they look so beastly. Great looking sub! I'm thinking of trying an 18 so who knows, these look pretty nice.

Enclosures are same as always with all models I believe. If I recall though, Jacob said that these would perform in the larger enclosures off higher power very well. These are meant to be ground pounder daily low end beasts.

Sorry if that isn't enough info :(

Don't say that!!! Lol

I was thinking it would be about the same. I remember him saying the Z v.4 would work good in larger enclosures. Not sure if that would be the same as the X series.

Current Z v.3 style boxes are compatible; but we've tested up to 50% bigger than the Z v.3 style boxes with good results as well, especially tuned low. The bigger box will allow you to take advantage of more of the excursion capacity of the woofer.
