2010 civic sedan daily drive

Recommended Posts

I'm at a standstill waiting on parts for my Matrix so I decided to start a small install in my Civic.  I'm not sure what the entire system will be but the sub will be a 10 inch MMAG sample that is on it's way.  It'll be mounted in the the rear deck in a .4 cubic foot sealed enclosure.

Sub Parameters:

Re     2.06 ohms

Fo     34.77 hertz

Qts    .4755

Qes   .5101

Qms  7

Vas   10.56 liters

BL     17.2 T/M

xmax  22.5mm (over hang method)

Mms   333.6 grams

Cms   62.8 uM/N

SPL   81.25 1W @ 1M

I'm starting off making a copy of the rear deck that will be modified to become the bottom of the enclosure.  It'll be 6 layers of two ounce chopped strand mat by the time it's finished.  Notice that I always use one solid piece when possible.

Another 20 or 30 hours and I'll have a good base for the enclosure.

I like how your idea of a small install starts with fiberglassing the entire rear deck panel.

got the ole lady a new civic so I got this one as my new DD.  Upgrading to a 12 ported. start of the box below.  As long as history doesnt repeat itself I might actually finish this install.

Built the buck for the port trim rings.  The rings and the inside of the ports will be wrapped in suede.

Interesting. What's the mold made of? From this angle it looks like pancake batter. I'd like to see it done, my imagination is weak with this one, I have no idea where this build is going.

Plaster of Paris?

The mold is made from plaster of paris.  Ive done a TON of mold work in my day.  I was in gifted visual arts for all 13 years of school.  Off topic but a couple things I have done about 15 years ago.

The ole lady and one of several pieces I have done.  She's pregnant again and if she makes it through this one I have plans for on when she's 9 months that estimate will take me about 2,000 hrs to complete.  The one below took about 700 hrs.
