d2400 voltage but no amps

Recommended Posts

Just got battery this morning. Charged battery at 14.1 volts at 10 amps before in stalling. Installed battery when to gym everything was good. Let gym still fine. Just when to grab some food started just clicked and nothing not even the dome light. Got DDM out resting voltage is 12.7 but it don't do anything. Put flood battery back started right up on 12.1 voltage. Lasted a whole 8 hours

If the battery was sitting at 12.7 there isn't anything wrong with it. Sound like you had a loose connection which fixed itself when you switched back to stock battery.

voltage present doesnt mean you have a good battery fyi, hence a battery tester puts a load on it, not just check the difference in potential

Bought it brand new? Or used? I would check all of your connections first

Yep. A charger will test batt before charging..

So either you used the wrong charger damaging the battery or something is loose as stated before.

No this is not going to be pinned on me. I followed the instructions to the T charged before use use then just installed in truck. It did fine in morning but then sat for a couple hour than nothing.

If autozones batt tester passed it.. then again.. something is wrong in your car.

If they are just going off voltage then they didnt test it.

A batt cant go from good to bad to good.

From what you tell us. Autozone tested it to be good.

A load test will verify this and a charger will too.

A charger wont charge without faulting if batt was bad.

Some info is missinf in this story or something is bad in vehicle.

Did you check to see what the voltage dropped to?

I would take the battery to a established parts store not auto zone.

Just make sure you have good connections. All of them. How are you connecting to the terminals of the 2400?
