Got the new head unit installed with a mile long lead on it. I'll build a podium at some point.

Ok I said I wanted blue. It's BLUE!

This was just a test spot.

I want honest opinions. What you guys think? Didn't get too much feedback on Facebook.

add a white line of plasti as a divider, might set it off? something seems missing, but it still looks pretty good.

that's actually a great idea.

Although, it's really hard to mask off the plasti. Last time I did, it ended up peeling the plasti with the tape. Epic fail. Had to redo one whole side when I did black/gray. The spray from the can is somewhat precise, allowing you to cut in a fairly decent line like pictured in sample picture.

I did buy some painters tape fir 'sensitiv' applications. Kind of afraid to try it though.

If painters tape pulls it off how is it gonna hold up to washing.

Yeah it might not be worth the risk of having to doing it again, maybe someone else will chime in further for a solution.

goodluck :)

Because it's not adhesive stuck to the edgeline of the materials.

If I took it to the pressure wash car wash and focused the stream directly on the beginning of the color, it would probably lift. Hand wash is fine. I've washed it twice already between color and scheme changes. No issues.

So you mean it pulled the over coat off, not the paint under the tape? Must be a way to do it.

I like the blue over black. i think it would add a nice "flair" if you were able to do a dividing color between the black and blue, maybe a lime green or an orange. It looks just fine the way it is though. Keep up the good work Steve!

There are a lot of different kinds of painters tape and a lot of different companies make all of those. I'd suggest Sherwin Williams Intertape Polymer Tape. Its thicker and stronger and works great when used on new paint. We use it on door frames after we shoot them to give some protection while we roll out or shoot the walls. Leaves a very straight line.
