Best Monoblock Amp under $400?

Recommended Posts

The Fi SP4 15 is in the car and it wants power. I want to give it close to rms of 3000 watts but I have a budget of $400...

Any recommendations on a truthfully rated amp (around) 3000 watts @ 1ohm?

For that budget you need to look at some used amps.

Sundown,SQ.IA etc.

There is no truthfully rated 3000 rms at at $400, either up your budget or lower your expectations. The only luck you may have is used and i doubt you will find used for that price as well.

Yes and no, it was an honest try but the hifonics amps especially the newer lines are pretty good for the price

#1 Belva BB5000D

$270

Would probably give you the power you after. Haven't owned one myself though.

#2 Planet Audio BB4000.1

$239

You could almost afford to get two and you would likely have something like 4k (big bang circuit board)

^^ looking at these two I suspect they have the same board.

#3  Refurbished Sundown Audio 2500

3,000 watts all day. but you have to up your budget $100

Yeah, I have a hifonics brutus brx 1100 at the moment and it's putting out at least 1000. but sadly hifonics only makes the brutus line up to 2400 watts. And I'm skeptical about getting an amp from their Zeus line.

and....... #1 has been dyno tested. it did 1800 watts. #2 planet audio rates at Max power ratings. which typically is 1/2 the rms power.

#3 is about the best deal, yet still. I would have to save more for that

Just so you know you won't hear a difference between a few hundred watts especially with that high of power. I would get something around 2k-2.5k rms and it'll be plenty for daily. If you're competing it's a different story , but for daily it'll be fine. A crescendo BC2k would be great for that and can be had for under ~400. A guy on here is selling one here and would make you're sp4 slam. Just have a good box design and well built box and you will be great.

Link to the BC2000.

Another thing is you have to upgrade you're electrical more to support 3k rms than 2k. If there's no audible difference then why spend the money to upgrade you're electrical further if it's not needed. Money saved and you're still getting what you want.adhd.gif
