One amp, two ohm loads

Recommended Posts

So I recently traded a Kicker 350.4 for two Tang Band W6-1721 drivers and now I have a question. I have never thought of this before and don't remember seeing it done, but on a four channel 2 ohm stable amp could you run two channels at 4 ohms and the other two at 2 ohms? I want to have the Tang Bands up front with my Tantric 6.5 components and in the rear doors have a second set of Tantrics.

Normally, if it is 4-channel 2-ohm stable amp it is only OK to run 2 ohms to each of the 4-channels.  It is NOT normally OK to run a 2 ohm load on a set of the channels in bridge mode.   Just something to think about...

You will be fine.  My Draconia-II is daily running at 2 x 8 ohm for 1/2 & 2 x 4 ohm for 3/4.  ;)
