Crescendo PWX8 and FT1 Wiring

Recommended Posts

I have 2 PWX8 4 ohm and 2 FT1 4 ohm and a Hifonics BRX640.4 which is rated at 4 x 80 RMS @ 4 ohm or 4 x 160 RMS @ 2 ohm. Should I run each speaker to their own channel or should I run one tweeter and one speaker in parallel @ 2 ohm 160 watts?

Neither. Need to know what you are using for a crossover in order to answer that question.

If the answer ia you don't have one you should sell those speakers and buy something else as it isn't going to work out.

I have the crescendo FT1 tweeter crossover for the tweets and we're using the amp crossover for the PWX8's

Then youbjust answered your own question. Can't bandpass a mid and have the same channel connected to a tweet. I'd still recommend selling. Ft1 will not blend nice with that mid....nor any mid for that matter.

Oh well I just received these in the mail a few days ago and made the custom panels. EXO and Navid's vehicles have these combos in them and they sound great! Thanks!

Why does everyone try to come up with a lame nickname for this company?

Or for what you expect out of them.

The thing with crescendo is they don't give anything extra with their speakers.

No paperwork for warranty or instructions.

At least for their comp sets.

If you want to use them run them on their own channel. Turn the gain way down on the tweeters like at 1/4 and highpass the mids at 70hz and turn the gain up on them as much as you can without clipping. The Ft1's will dominate the mids if not.

you will also need alot of EQing to get it to sound halfway decent. Try it and see how it sounds since you already own them

Don't even try. Supertweeters are fucking pointless in a car. There has never been an installation where they've made sense. Even a quick rudimentary look will show you how poorly they will mate with a single driver, even worse when it is the PWX.

It won't be loud, but piercing and holy gaps. Seriously a terrible combination.
