Deadening a spoiler

Recommended Posts

Getting terrible rattles coming from a stock spoiler in a 2008 Grand Prix. What's the recommended treatment here? My first thought is taking it off and drilling a small hole to shoot expanding foam in. Unsure how the expanding foam really works and if it has any negatives.

Isnt the spoiler fiberglass? It probably makes noise mostly because of how it is attached. Maybe figure out a way to strengthen how it is attached to the trunk

It is Fiberglas but hollow inside.

You have to attach it better to the trunk. I would suggest unbolting it, then adding like, some kind of soft weather proofing in that joint between the spoiler mounting feet and the trunk.

Unbolt it. Put a bead of caulk on the mounts. Let it cure and reattach

We thought about removing it. Looks like we'll take it off and see about making it more solid. Thank you guys!
