I have a 7300. And was wondering if anyone has any information on what's needed to get it to run a 1 ohm load.

Looks like it was 2 ohm stable only unless you have someone to modify it I would not recommend you run it anything below that.

I didn't plan on going below 2 ohm till I get it upgraded. For now it will be running a undecided 8" in a 6th order box for now. Might go old school and put a couple 15" subs in a sealed box just for shits and giggles

Didn't know that you could get an amplifier modified to where it could work below specs like that ???

Yah, that's cause the cost of doing the mod would likely outweigh just getting another amp and selling the old one in most cases.

It is very possible.

One of my sponsors in the amplifier repair business. He does amplifier modifications all of the time. I've never heard of him talk about being able to take an amplifier that does not like to see anything less than 2 ohms and modify it to see anything less. Got nothing to do with cost.

He is out of town at the moment, but I will catch up with him and talk about this ASAP.

Just because he doesnt do it or you havent heard of it doesn’t mean its not possible, maybe it is just not worth the hassle. Modifying amps was more popular some years back then it is now as most amps go to 1 ohm or lower straight from the factory.

Yea, you could be right there. I'd def. like to see what process goes into a modification like this.

And like I said (or meant ot say), He might do it, I've just never heard of it.

Thanks.

Do you have a Email, link, number, or something that I could get up with him and ask a few questions? Having trouble finding something. Edited by Randal Johnson

If you haven't got subs yet why wouldn't you just get the right ohm subs so you can run it at 2 ohm

Because nowadays everybody wants to be cool with either custom subs or custom amps.

lol the ol frankensubs. I fully blame PSI for this.. lets take all these parts from all these different subs and put em together and still not be as loud and pay twice the price. lmao I love it
