So I'm in the Midwestspl local and I'm going to change my class to nationals and was wondering if any body on here is from the same group "Midwestspl" that in the basic 4 class that can tell me how tall my box can be I know it to the window line but my 2005 tahoe has to different window line heights the side window is higher than the back hatch window...more ? To come once that one is answer.

For Midwest spl it's measured from the side Windows. What setup do you plan on running?

Why do you want a 4th order bandanas? Also, c pillar walls in my experience rarely get louder than a under the window line box in SUVS like these.

4th order BP, tune to 35Hz, and competing makes ZERO sense. ZERO. Has uber fail written all over it. No way, no how should you be attempting a BP box.

Everybody is helping but you are stuck in your ways. I am helping and gave my opinion like everyone else, sorry you dont like it. If you haven't been in the car audio scene then maybe it is different but it won't be to every one else. There is nothing really different to be done as far as enclosures. Going for different and eye catching aren't really goals. Well eye catching can be if it is putting up good numbers or the aesthetics are top notch.

That's not the right way to be, sometimes it works in some situations but just because other people are doing it doesnt mean its the right way or best option for you. Honestly, there are plenty of under the window line dual 18 setups that can do upwards of 54's with no issues on low power. Especially being in a tahoe you'd be able to fit 4 18's under the window line while keeping the rear seats.

You gain a lot from the way SUV's are shaped and how the acoustics work.

I"m with M5, makes no sense.

The space required for an SPL BP is HUGE. we are talking 6 to 1 ratio which is peaky as hell and has no place for an daily vehicle.

If you want to try something different, why not try something that works. That would be different. So many stupid people running bandpass boxes that are major fails it is absurd.

What you are trying to do is akin to someone trying to track a full size cargo van in a class of Lotus 7's and claim that they want it to be different. Worst part is you expect it to work because you've seen dipshits elsewhere try it.

I also fail to understand how monkey see monkey do leads to "different".

Hello everyone, long time no see. I am selling a pair of Dual 2-ohm (technically D1.7) 12" Sundown X v.2's built by Dave Leib a.k.a "Strongman Designs."
Reason I am selling them is because I realized upon testing to see if my digital multi-meter was working correctly that one of the coils is reading higher on the one sub indicating that too much heat had been applied to it recently so rather than risking any further damage to it I am going to assume that I have too much power for these.
Having said this in all honesty, let me make it perfectly clear here that both subs are still in perfect working order as we speak, even the one that is reading differently. Had I not thrown my multi-meter on it to test it in order to see if it was working properly (the multi-meter itself) I would have never known there was any difference or discrepancy between the two.
However, because one of them is reading off now and I do not know what is to be expected out of it's performance long-term I will be letting these go for $500+ shipping (that includes both).
Any further questions or concerns please feel free to text me at 440-915-2309
      Phil

Hello everyone, just wanted to say hi. Came across this site on the Sundown page. Continuing to learn and looking to build great sub boxes.
    • By B00Mbap
Hey everyone I signed up here awhile back, but have only been able to lurk here and there. Anyway I'm gonna pull the trigger soon and get a sub stage, but I'm not sure which sub/subs I want to buy. My new sub stage will pretty much be 2 12's in a ported box or maybe one 15 in a ported box depending on how much room I have or don't have..

I've looked through the 12'' subs in the store section from all the brands and a couple of 15's but leaning more towards 12's. My goal for the sub stage is pretty much output/loudness. I need some help/recommendations from you guys please and I'll provide more info if you guys need to know anything else.

Hello everyone I would like to start by saying I have no intention of breaking or bending any site or community rules here so pls forgive me if I do that is not my intention.

I am here to share my personal experience with cherrymancustoms who has built me an extremely personalized and truly custom enclosure to meet the needs of my particular listening goals.

This man has spent literally countless hours over-the-phone speaking with me one on one in an attempt to maximize my enclosure design and has built what I consider to be a very good quality box. I have attached images for your own viewing and judgement below.

His website is www.cherrymancustoms.com/ where he has a phone number listed for you to contact him if you so choose to do. He also has a YouTube account and forum thread over at caraudio.com

I plan on again encouraging him to create an account here so he can communicate with you guys easily and share all of his work here locally with the community.

FYI this box was built with an adjustable internal volume and adjustable tuning plus it is "double walled" everywhere from top to bottom and side to side. It features some serious bracing too.

For any of you looking for someone to build and create exactly what you have in mind or rather those of you who need somebody to help you determine what would be best for your needs I strongly encourage you to give this man a chance he is super friendly, knowledgeable and hard-working as you can see.

Best of wishes to everyone here hope some of you may find this information to be of good use.
