In the door, with a new wood ring.

It will be wet in a few months if I keep it like that !

I hope I'll find time to do something.

We was in a hurry, the night was alreday there.

So we had to finish, and wire everything with my phone light !

We'll have to come back on it very soon.

The amp was already bridged to the passive filters. We just took the mids wires to the inputs  of the Focal filters. And left the tweeters on the filters outputs.

I was afraid of the results, but finally it plays ...

I like the sound of those SEAS Prestige ER18.

I tried to cross them at 80 Hz, it was niiiice.

And then I tried 63 Hz. It was much better !

The sound is clear and "warm" enough for me. I'm not disappointed at all when I remember the Focal KP mids.

Those Seas are 8 Ohms speakers, but I don't think I lost output with this same little amplifier : an Incriminator Audio 3.4 rated @ 4 x 65 w rms @ 4 Ohms.

I need some cash to buy a mini-dsp. I hope I can do it next months.

So far I'm very happy with the sound. The speakers are brand new, they may need time.

Thanks M5.

Thanks guys.

Surely by now those mids should be broke in and things dialed in a bit better, how's it sounding for you?  Still loving those mids?

I love them more and more !

:dancing:

But I did not take time to play with that dsp.

I have a few days off, maybe I'll find a moment, and a place to tune everything better.

little update : I put the rear battery under the box, in the spare tire location.

You can see how much room I gained !

Now there is another piece of carpeted wood to cover that "hole", so it's cleaner than this picture.

Here are pics of the piece of wire I had for the big 3 5+ alt to + batt) :

I took it out.

The alternator is regulated, I'll let it work ! I kept the grounds only, for the big3.

I changed the tweeters. I found a good deal on a pair of Davis Acoustics TWX DF.

They sound good, I like them so far. They are titanium dome tweeters.

They are so clean, and ...accurate. I don't know how to say it, but I feel they are more hifi oriented than my previous Focal set.

They fit well in the stock location , on the dash. But I managed to aim them way less on the windshield. They just fit very, very tight, without any screw ! I found they were sounding better like that, rather than before (aiming at the windshield).

Crossed at 3500 Hz, 24dB.

Those Damp sheets are so thick and hard, it's not easy to put them on non flat area.

We used a wood roller I had from an old Hush Mat order. And hopefully we were wearing gloves.

We did our best and we won't do it twice on this car.

Now, I'm waiting on a new box and my sub.

I talked to my box builder yesterday : it should be good for this week-end. I hope so. He already have the money ($150 !).

My "recone specialist" takes his time...maybe this week-end too.
