You want a set of passive crossovers or are you going active? If going active, what do you have processing wise? What kind of sound (airy, in your face, bass heavy, lyric based, maybe your planning on using it for polka... idk) are you looking for? You have sub(s) for this set up? If so, tell us what you have for power, surface area, and box design for them. We need some info before anyone can help.

Plus the questions jay-cee asked ^^^

I vote polka as main intended use.

Around 100 dollars. I will be running them passive in the doors.

For $100 just pick a pair, it wont really matter. You wont find a good pair that will outperform another set at that price, they will all be lackluster.

You could get two SilverFlutes W17rc38 mids for 70 bucks and some vifa or dayton tweets off parts-express for around 20-30 bucks. These will more than likely put any $100 comp set to shame. Just an example.

But won't I need a crossover?

I just want some passive comps. I don't want to spend much over 100 for the pair. I do have a sub running off of channels 3 & 4 a 10" gcon. Classic rock.

Yes they need a crossover, but no separates like that would require a custom made passive crossover that the design of and build of such crossover would likely be out of your comfort zone.

Separates really need an active crossover, either built into a HU like the Pioneer 80PRS or the Clarion CZ702 or as a stand alone unit like the miniDSP or a Soundstream Harmony/PPI DSP-88R.  The stand alones are more expensive than the HU options but offer MUCH better control of the signal.  The cost will throw your budget out the window though and you would also need more amplifier channels free as everything would need to be on separate channels.

Look into the Pioneer TS-D1720C components or the Crescendo CZ 6.5's or the SoundQubed QC-HF6.5's in the store to support the site.  All are in your price range and decent speakers to use on that amp.

Yes they would plus i forgot you're channels 3&4 are occupied with the substage.

But for future reference mini dsp's are inexpensive compared to processors/active capapble headunits and can make running active a breeze from my understanding. Just need a laptop to set up. If you one day wanted to go the raw drivers route.

Depends how much money I will have to play with as I near retirement age.

I use the crescendo cz. I would recommend them as I feel they are a pretty good set of comps at that price point.
