 personally I would rather waste a CO2 fire extinguisher over heating that crap up and making a mess

 

fogging it with CO2 will freeze it and it will come off in solid peices 

 

the CO2 fire extinguisher is also the FASTEST beer chiller on the planet...LOL

Not sure why the guy cares about painting metal he is about to cover with sound deadener, but to each their own.  That hot knife might not be a bad tool to add to the collection.
