port area for zcon 18s

Recommended Posts

How much port area you think would be best for 2 18" zcons. . Will be in around 16 cubes in a b pillar flat wall on about 5-6k rms

Depends on the tuning.

190 in^2 at 33hz with 4kw would yield a port speed near 25 m/s.

The x-axis formatting is fucked up, but each dash is a three digit value so you can still read it. I calculated it with 4kw since on average your power is likely going to be way less than whatever the amp rating is due to impedance. My previous enclosure was near 25 m/s for the port speed and didn't have any audible noise, perhaps you could get away with a higher speed, perhaps not...

With all these programs 4 box tuning and design can you tell what impedance of that enclosure is going to be?

Don't quote me, but I think you can plot it with winISD, I know you can with LEAP linear x.

They will all plot impedance, but remember, impedance varies (drastically) with frequency...
