Been registered since 2010, inactive on the forums(used mostly for lurking, reading up on things). Only slightly more active on ****. Audio has been my (oft neglected) hobby for the better part of 20 years.

Trying to scratch my itch again, after close to a year of happily owning two 15" XCon's on a SQ 1200(.25 ohm) I decided to throw a second 1200 on them, strapped at 1 ohm. Needless to say, they started to come alive, and my itch got worse, so here I am. :)
I mostly listen to metal, occasionally house/techno, a little rap(a guy has to demo once in a while!)

Previous setup(last vehicle, about 3 years ago):

2001 Monte Carlo SS (Not measured, guesstimated around 145+)
+.5v booster (15.1 charging voltage)
XS Power D3400 in trunk
Pioneer 80PRS, active
Planet Audio BB175.4 @ 4 Ohms
CDT HD-M6 6.7", MB Quart tweeters (can't find info)
Crescendo Audio BC3500 @ .33 ohm
   3x Sundown Audio Zv3 10"
~5 cubes tuned to 37 hz

Current setup: (141.0 on single 1200, not measured yet on both)
2005 Cadillac SRX 4.6
Pioneer 80PRS, active
Planet Audio BB175.4 @ 2 ohms
   Infinity 609cs component system
2x Soundqubed Q1-1200.2 strapped @ 1 ohm
   2x SSA XCon 15" D1
TL enclosure designed by So Low on ****
XS Power D3400 ~1 ft from amps

Upgrades planned or considering:

Swapping out Infinity components with Silver Flute 6.5(4 ohm) and SB Acoustics SB29RDC Ring Dome tweeter(4 ohm). (Already owned)
Swapping out BB175.4 with a different amp(Incriminator IA6.4 or Crescendo C1100.4)
Upgrading to 5k+ and possibly a third XCon.

Anyways, I would like to say thank you to the community, and SSA, for being so helpful and informative. :)

I mocked them up and listened to a few songs when I got them(about 6+ months ago?!)... Was not disappointed. Definitely looking forward to hearing them again soon. I just couldn't figure out how much damage I wanted to do to the vehicle...  I may look into PVC end caps for the time being, which should let me try out different positions and angles.. Are you on or off axis with yours?

Thanks all :)

Got my APM-2 in the mail today, messing around.. This thing rocks! Probably the easiest to use Meter I've gotten ahold of yet. Might have missed something, but without restarting the app, is there a way to reset your peak spl?

Found it. Didn't realize I could scroll down further on the main "meter" screen. :)

Picked up a pair of spare A-pillars, going to try my hand at fiberglass(after spending a couple hours watching youtube videos).

Ordered a SQ-7k(headroom!) and another XS d3400. Almost ordered 2 more XCons, but I don't have the room for them, :( especially wanting to keep the style of enclosure I'm using.

Spend A LOT of timing aiming before even starting the fiberglass.  That little bit of the install makes or breaks it!

Thank you for the reminder! At one point I was thinking just to aim them above and between the seats(just past where the dome light normally is) but I doubt I'd ever be satisfied with that compromise, just to give passengers a slightly better sound..

I'll be making rings and starting that process today, hopefully. I'm quite certain I won't begin the actual fiberglassing for a couple of weeks. :/

My current truck is using the stock angles which are similar to your "passenger" proposal but once I set it up to sound right in the drivers seat it sounds like ass in the passenger get seat.  No surprise though as that HAS to be the case if you optimize for you.  The cure is you demo with you sitting in the passenger seat.  System is for you...build it for YOU

Shifting the Position selector on the head unit from driver to passenger, would basically mirror the image, wouldn't it? I haven't checked yet, but wouldn't the settings made for passenger position stay in memory separate from the drivers side? So in theory I could set it up for myself, then change position and set it up for passenger and demo for others using that position/setting?

I don't think the 80prs has a different complete setting for passenger...but it may as I still would never have bothered with it.

Thought your box was done...since it isn't why not just build a standard enclosure as it will improve in every way

Box was finished about 9 months ago, I went rummaging through my phone for related pictures, and that was the only one I could find during construction. I may try a normal ported enclosure in the near future, especially since I'm considering buying two more Xcons..
