One question, would 4 cubic feet at 27hz be ok? Or would I need more airspace and a higher tune?

4cuft is pretty small. If I where to shoot in the dark I'd start around 6cuft.

80...you bandpass whore. lol..i'm going to be sending you a pm here over the weekend. i want you to look over something.

get your mind outa the gutter.

and tez4life, is the 4ft^3 box built already? if so, give it a whirl. one thing about mike's subs, they will work in just about anything. everyone said the rl-s drivers needed huge boxes too, but from my experience, that just isn't the case. the 12" rl-s i tested in my wife's trailblazer went in 2.5 @ 28hz and is still the loudest measured sub in there to date.

As I just told tez in PM - he could get away with 4 cu ft tuned around 28 - 30 Hz with acceptable results, however in my opinion his ~10 cu ft of airspace would be best used with a sealed box for optimum sound quality. If he wants to trade off for a higher peak output with a steeper low end roll-off, the relatively small ported box can work (but it wouldn't be my personal choice).

This is one great looking subwoofer. If you sounds as great as it looks, I have found my new SQ (IB setup) for my system.

Sealed alignments should range from 4 cu ft to infinity (with a Q ~ 0.5, infinite baffle for the win!).

That's good stuff right there :fing34:
