Building a System for Street B (Orion)

Recommended Posts

Sup guys...we're having a compeition coming here on the 6th...it'll be on DBTV so check it out!! I won't be using my car...I'll be using a friends Durango. Going to use a Orion H2 15.2 and a 2500D. Basically building the system for this comp because that would never fit in my t-bird. I'll start posting pics as I build the system and will post results and some video on what I hit on the 6th. Any guesses?? I"m thinking low 140's....I have no clue what it'll do.

HCCAfan are you currently running H2's?

yeah that was w/out tuning or testing the box before the show and then i blew an amp. So i just sold all my Mmats and im getting 2 rockford bd 1500's and putting one to each sub. i hope i get louder, b/c i have a meter now to do some tuning :) and a new CRX. still got the other one sitting around waiting for a B18 and tranny swap to go in :)

bd1500's are just awesome....get yours modded so they'll do the .5 ohm...thats when their real power comes out. CRX's are just the way to go these days man...

***Picked up $40 of MDF today for the box B)

how do you mod them to be stable at .5 ohms?

You'd have to get someone who's done it before to do it. Its a risky thing to do...and you'd want someone who knows what they are doing to do it.

***Update - Ordered 15" RE SX Today....couldn't get the H2 because they were taking a while and RE has everything in stock ready to go...also saved a few $

Dunno...kinda shocked myself on that one too. But I want a nice 15" sub for the competition and my local shop (Neill) is sponsored by Orion and he said he would hook me up on the H2. Well he hasn't placed his first order yet..which they want a minmum of $700 order. So we decided to just save a few $$ and get a RE SX which is basically the same sub with the power I'm putting on it. Yes the H2 can handle more...but with the 2500D on either sub, they'd preform the same..maybe the SX even beating it out. I"ll probably sell the sub after the show....with it only have 2 burps on it.

well if u mod. them u basically take the stabbility away from the amp. dont get me wrong they put out a ton of power, but they are also more sensitive to blowing over little things.

isnt it best to have the port facing the same way as the sub? just curious

Depends on the car, if it was my car...we'd try the sub in both positions. But since this isn't my car I decided to fire it up just because its usually a few tenths louder....and also looks cool at the shows.
