Which companies used TC motors?
lately i've heard quite a few bigger name companies have used various TC sounds motors on their own sub lineups, and i'm wondering, is it possible to salvage the motors (and baskets?) to recone these subs? If so, which models should i be looking out for? I know Eclipse used some in their Ti and 8200 range, and Lightning Storm, Ground Zero etc, but i think Eclipse are going to be the easiest to track down.
Also, who can recone these, and to what size? I've found that Fi can recone them in this thread, but it looks like their baskets arent a great fit for most motors.
Any help appreciated guys

Random ???
I don't want to put spl10 in the title and get peoples hopes up.
Is there a possibility of a spl10 coming out? If not is the motor to big to be convenient to make a custom one? (motor larger than sub would be)

Active setup problem
I ran new wires today, and installed the 9887. I tested the deck out with the passives, so the deck is fine. On active I seem to not be getting sound out of the tweeters. I have the deck set on "3-way" mode, which I think is correct. The manual says to run the tweeter wire to rear channel for me is 3 and 4. And I ran the mids to channel 1 and 2. I'm thinking it might be the "input channel" setting on the amplifier. I also shut the crossovers on the amp to Off.
Input Channel Options:
1)"Setting this switch to 1 + 3/ 2 + 4 will sum the CH-1 and CH-3 input and send it to CH-3 while the CH-2 and CH-4 inputs are summed and sent to CH-4"
2)Set this switch to 3/4 to have the inputs of CH-3/4 accept independent input signals. An example of this application would be the use of a head unit with dual pre-amp outputs."
3)Setting this switch to 1/2 will send the signal at the inputs of CH-1/2 to CH-3/4 of the PDX-4.150. This eliminates the need for Y-adaptors when using a head unit with a single pair of pre-amp output.
Give me some help please Thanks, -Mike

sundown 3000 at .5 ohm?
I would like to know exactly what it takes on voltage wise and battery wise to run my 3000ds at .5ohm daily to my 2 15" BTL's. Or what would be the best way for me to go to get excellent power from them 3000's. Any input would be great, strapping or wiring to .5ohm since when you factor in imp rise and all that. Thanks everyone

Shin splints.....
so i have been working out for the past 2 months, 3 days a week, for about an hour. sometimes i switch up my routine, but for the most part i will do 30 minutes of cardio, and 30 minutes of weights. i have tried running on the treadmill and on the track and i still get shin splints. i do calf raises everyday as well. i am 5'6" 230 lbs, so im definitely overweight, so i know that has something to do with it, but also, i would think it would improve at least a little bit by now. is there anything i can do to prevent these shin splints from running?
i have tried to get on a diet, and i have cut back on my portions and i try to have a small healthy snack every few hours, rather than eating 3 big meals, but i just cannot get motivated enough to stick to it. i work out on the road, and the guys i work with all eat fast food everyday, so it is very tough to bring a lunch and eat by myself while they eat fast food.
any advice / suggestions?

port to the trunk or cab
A buddy of mine came to me the other day with 2 15s and wanted me to make a box that would fit in a 1999 Buick Park Ave. With a Height of only 14 inches its gowning to be a Wedge Enclosure. My ? is should i port the box in the front or in the back? The back seats do not fold down but in between the seats the arm rest folds down and gives a quick access hole that is 8 1/2 x 7 1/2 to the trunk. I was thinking of putting the port right there but im not shore.

Rl-p 12" Dilemma: To keep or not to keep?
So after 2 happy years with my rl-p 12" being powered by an elemental designs 900.1 my amp has chit the bed. I sent it back to elemental designs 2 times to be fixed for free and each time I got it back it worked for a while but the arrived at the same terrible fate. I am not tired of paying 20 dollars to ship it back to be "fixed" again, so I am in the market for a new amp.
Here lies the Dilemma, I want to buy a multi channel amp to power a set of components and a set of 6x9s in the back as well as an amp for my rl-p 12 without going bankrupt or running 0 guage wire. The alpine pdx-5 was an appealing choice until i saw that it only pumps out 300 watts to the mono channel which wouldn't do for my sub, right? Can anyone suggest either a 5 channel amp that would power an rl-p 12 (if one exists) or another mono amp thats not $600 and would do while still leaving me some money to buy a 4 channel amp that puts out at least 70 watts per channel?
My other thinking is ditching my rl-p and buying maybe a pair of JLs that i could run off of 300 watts, but I love my sound splinter! What do you think? Thanks

Rl-p 12 box config
I was wanting to know how much air space would be ideal for me, as I will be putting my newly aquired SS Rl-p in a ported, down-firing box behind the third row seating in a 2007 Chevy Tahoe. I will be powering it with an Alpine PDX 1000.1 mono amp. I listen to 95% Hip-Hop/Rap music and I am real picky with my bass...... I know this will sound so broad and vague that it is not even worth saying...... but I like HARD HITTING bass, but there is a DEFINITE fine line between hard hitting "Quality" bass that is smooth and blends into the music nicely and at the same time can also come out and shake your head when it is called upon...... And then there is the Hard Hard Hard hitting BASS that is just insane, blow you face off and rip you hair out, cant really even hear the words to the song bass..... And that is not for me. Very entertaining every once in awhile, but again, not for me as a daily driver. So I would say, if you could put a % on it...... I would be like a 65% SQ and 35% SPL type of guy.
So, when taking into consideration the vehicle I will be putting it in, the Alpine PDX 1000.1 I will be powering it with, my listening habbits (Hip-Hop/Rap), and my attempt at describing the type of "bass" I desire....... Could someonoe recommend a perfect match in terms of size of box (air space) and what should it be tuned at..... I was thinking somewhere around 2 cubes tuned at around 30-32. However, don't go thinking I know what the HELL I am talking about, because I don't!! I will make that real clear. Everything I have learned about Ohms, volts, tuning freq, ported, sealed.....blah, blah, blah....... I have learned literally by reading on these forums. Therefore the numbers I took a stab at are not based on what I have heard..... they are basically my best attempt to pin point what I think I would like based on the answers others have gotten when they raised a similar quetions after describing there wants out of there system. So needless to say..... those numbers could farther off from what i am meaning to say.... IF THAT MADE ANY SENSE AT ALL TO ANYONE OUT THERE.... I WILL BE AMAZED!!

4 refurbed 1500Ds
I have dual 1ohm subs...was looking to do 2-3000Ds strapped @ 1ohm but was told that I would benefit more from 4-1500s. Im still undecided if I want to go with a Atomic 7K or get 4 refurbished 1500Ds. What kinda power do u think Id get out of 4 with a 250amp alt, 2 runs of 2/0 welding cable, 1 Deka 9A78DT up front and 3-9A31s in the rear? Do u think Id get more out of the Atomic or 4 1500s, both are around the same price....(I know this is a Sundown thread but please be honest)

US Merlin MD22
Hello I'm new to this forum. I have a few questions that I would like for someone to answer for me. I have the like the title states a US Merlin MD22. Now every where i have read says it do the following specs Power: 200wx2 @ 4 310wx2 @ 2 650wx1 @ 4. And on the box it says 257 @ 4 ohms and 352 @ 2 ohms. So I want to know the truth, whats the deal? The first thing i noticed is the fuse rating (3) 25 amps, now i know that if a amp has a 60 amp fuse. It will do somewhere from 650 to 750 watts. And the second thing I noticed was the power and ground connectors. Now I know it takes like a 4gauge wire. And the thrid things is that it is made in the U.S.A. so I know that its a powerhouse. I going to compete this year and this is the amp i going to run. So I want to know the real true specs. of what this amp will do. And also with all that power u feed to it will it run at 2 ohms mono. Plus I dont want to be blowing speakers like there is no tomorrow bc the amps to powerful. I have tried google information and it is very very limited. Its like the amp never existed. Oh yeah I did talk to a us tech and he said that it will do 1300rms all day long and said it is very underrated and laugh, and i beter on on to it. Thats all the information he gave me. Thxs for your time, I hope to hear some feed back soon on this matter...
