ICON Series Sub Woofer

We are very proud to present you the SSA ICON. The SSA ICON is designed strictly with high performance in mind. The ICON is all business from top to bottom, from part selection to looks. The design of the ICON is to be versatile, it can preform at very high levels all across the spectrum of performance and not just one portion. It will excel in both sealed and ported boxes. The ICON will deliver elite sound quality, which will rival much more expensive main stream sub woofers. The ICON can also compete with some of the louder sound quality subs out there in terms of output. With the right power and the right enclosure, the ICON can shake the bolts off your wheels and the fillings from your teeth, but only if you want it too.

One thing that many sub woofers lack is motor strength. The ICON has it to spare, a double stack motor that can really control the cone, while keeping clean linear excursion, even under the most demanding of listening environments. If you want a class leading sound quality and vision blurring output, but do not want to make your checking account sweat, the ICON is the right choice. You can be proud of your purchase, because the ICON is designed and hand crafted in the U.S.A.

I just got this sub the other day to replace one in a custom sealed down-fire box and it sounds great! Clean, powerful, and loud! Wating for it to break in completely!
You guys did an amazing job with this one

I just installed a 12" Icon in a sealed nder the backseat of my silverado. I have to say that SSA you guys did an amazing job with this one. One of the best drivers i've heard without a doubt. I'm running it off of a JL 500/1 and I absolutely love this thing. It's only been played for about 2 hours so it still needs some time to break in. The transient response and accuracy is amazing, much better than the W7 and comparable to the W6 but with more output and much better lows. In the sealed box i have now it reminds me of how low my Type X hit in it's ported box. It just eats the lows up no problem. It blends so well with everything even though i haven't bought the mids and tweets i want.
    ICON 15" reveiw.

Well I purchased 2 15" ssa Icons from SSA, Drove all the way out from cali to arizona to pick them up... Put them in a crappy premade enclosure.. They have like 1.8 cft each if that.... more like 1.5... And lets just say they are amazing.... I can't wait to get them in a ported enclosure... They are in a 2003 pontiac vibe.. I broke my front winshield a piech of glass broke off and was stuck to my rear view mirror so theres a chunk of glass missing now were my rear view mirror is supposed to be... Anyways I'm going to be trading my car for a 64 Impala SS.. I will be most likely purchasing 2 more 15's and taking the back seats out of the impala the interior is shot anyways... and walling it up.. then throwing a bunch of bags and pumps in the back and i got a low rider thats SUBBIN!

How good it sounds in a horrible install

I pretty much used a wide variety of music to check this little bad boy out. I did try to break it in and the difference is noticeable since I first installed the sub. The music I used ranged from big band, jazz, vocal, symphony, electronica, electronic dance music and of course the ever so popular IASCA test disc (not the newest one though). After attempting to dial it in by ear, I think it s close enough, I noticed a few things about this particular subwoofer. First of all, the ICON is a very musical sub capable of blending rather nicely, once it s all figured out. The output of this sub in a smaller enclosure with what I have to say mid-level power applied was rather impressive. The cab of my car was nicely filled with accurate transitions and good level. Actually, I found myself readjusting my EQ down on certain bands. Secondly, this particular woofer does not show any signs of break-up or mechanical distortion. I understand the driver is built to handle a lot more power, but when I went bass-head to see what would happen, nothing did! Great engineering guys.
