I Just got a pair of Eclipse 8062 6.5" mid-bass's with there crossovers, and no tweeters for $60. I thought it was a good deal so i got them, I needed a upgrade from my polk db 4x6's. I tried the eclipse out in the house in a quickly made box and they sounded great, but I cannot get them to fit in the car where they will be completely sealed like they need to be. My speaker holes are 4x6" on the top of my dash facing the windshield in each corner (I will post pics). I need help figuring out a good solution to where they will sound good and look kinda decent in the car. I can't put them in the doors and i am not allowed to do any permanent modifications to this car. So what are some good options?? Also the magnets on these just fit through the 4x6" hole so I was thinking about cutting some 1/4" wood to fit nicely on the dash and paint it to match, but then I was wondering if the windshield would be a phasing problem, because my car already has a lot of phase issues.

well when I played a 13hz sine wave I could hear this deep low rumble that was similar to the deep growl of some muscle cars. I only could hear up to 19,000k when I tested myself, I think the reason most people can't believe this is because they never have experienced that low note and may never experience it. I am autistic and I can notice a lot of things most people don't. when i switched to 12hz I heard nothing but i could feel notes down to 9hz. This is my last post on this topic so you don't have to worry about this dragging on.

I have been thinking sealed, but I don't want to stop using the enclosure I spent $400 on. Also I am measuring the voltage using the car factory voltage gauge, I have checked it for accuracy and it was dead on compared to the multimeter. I just need a better amp and a new alternator, my hifonics amp isn't the greatest for distortion. But the better alternator will have to wait until my next car. I have played with the crossover settings, i have tried setting it from 60hz to 90hz with 12db and 24db slopes. so far 70hz at 24db sounds the best, but 60hz has the least voltage dip.

well now that my xcon has had many many hours of playing it is broken in and it itself can hit the higher notes, but i have noticed now that my amp is horrible at any high notes, it distorts and draws a lot more power, yes I know class d amps are better at the low notes, but I think I need a sundown amp now, gotta go save some money. I hope a sundown is good up to 80/90hz, it should be with all that quality. Before the xcon did die before it got broken in, now that this xcon got broke in all the way it hits much better, and I also found out the srs trubass was causing some cancellation also. Its always turned on by default on my radio. now at least I can focus on a new amp instead of all those mid-bass drivers.

So your gonna have you sub crossed from 50hz on down on a low pass filter. Then your gonna have your midbass speakers play bandpassed from 60hz-100hz and I guess have some components to play from 120hz on up.
Maybe Im reading this wrong but that seems like these are your goals, correct me if im wrong.
well the sub will be at 60hz at 24db, the 8" midbass at 50hz-100hz and the components from 90/100hz and up. I will need to play around with them a little once installed, so it may not be exactly that, but that is what i am going for.

I know I have made my mistake but why does everyone have to keep assuming that I am going to blow something up. I just need some help, and you guys won't help me, if I could find what I am looking for, nothing would get wrecked and I do learn my lessons you just assume because it happened before that it will always happen. Also, I have found out part of the reason my mid-bass is so weak in my car is because my hifonics amp can't do notes that high very well. I sat right in front of the sub the other day while adjusting some settings and every note that it hit above 60hz distorted and it wasn't even turned up all the way. So I turned my crossover down to make it so I don't wreck anything but now I really need a new amp.

Ok, well I have the xcon installed again along with the rewound alternator to 180amps. New 0 gauge wire and Big 3, my voltage doesn't dip on the low notes anymore and it stays above 13v for the high notes, It sounds much better and intense now. Also since i got this new alternator my upper bass is more noticeable, but I still am lacking what I want. Also an update to what i am looking for i need a 6.5"-10" driver that will be as loud as the xcon in the 60hz-100hz area. The enclosure it will be going in needs to be less than 1 cu ft. This all will be going in a 92 buick century wagon, I would like the cost to be less than $150 per driver, and when i say as loud I mean i want to feel everything from the drum kicks to the bass of the announcers voice. Also as far as what i already have in the car, i have polk db 4x6 in the front window, polk momo 6x9's in the rear in non sealed enclosures, hooked up to a 400rms crunch amp with 12 gauge wire for the speakers. So let me know what you guys think.

So I have read around a little and I have talked about it before, I need a mid-bass/woofer that can do 50hz-100hz/120hz just as loud and viscous as my 15" xcon can hit 30-50hz. I have run across the Aurasound NS10-513-4A 10" which seams like it may work, but I want more opinions. It can be of any wattage, it needs to be 10" or smaller I'd prefer a 8" but i'll do 10" if it is what it will take to hit those db's, and the enclosure whether it is ported or sealed needs to be less than 1 cu ft. I want great punch, I want to feel the drums in my chest, my old sub (kove armageddon) could hit these notes at around 135db and i miss the feeling of it.

What do you guys think about me getting these???
Eclipse 8062, Need help on install
in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
well I can't do anything to the doors, I can't modify the car. Not my car. so basically whatever I do to it needs to be able to be completely undone.
