I'm a Mopar guy, but I give you credit. That is a careful, skillful restoration. Very well done, sir.

2000 watts RMS, 4 gauge input and ground, and one 80 amp fuse. Something doesn't add up. Oh yeah, it weighs 7 lbs.

Welcome, I teach over in Dade City. I also own a Chrysler product and know about some of the challenges to make them sound better, you will find a wealth of information on this forum.

ZCON Carbon Fiber Option | Now Available
SS Teacher replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
If a pink surround was an option, I would sell a kidney to get one. -
Now I see it! That is one sweet dinner plate.

I don't know, I don't see any image.

I'm not sure I'd convince myself that that HiPhonics amp is crappy. A lot of guys on this forum use and like them, and for the price, seem to be well designed and built.

This is getting really funny!

I want that woofer! I'm only seeing it on my mobile and not from my computer, plus I've never bought anything from a forum before. I'll shoot you a PM after I get back from church.

What was the first "system" you had in your car?
SS Teacher replied to ricksi30's topic in Off Topic
Wow everybody is so young! My first system was in a 1985 Ford Escort hatchback- 2 Cerwin Vega 12"s running in stereo off a UNICs 2x75 watt amp- that thing hit so hard back in the late 80's, it turned heads all the time, I miss those days. -
I have been teaching high school for 17 years and I can tell you that an apology is a rare thing indeed, way to man up! There is hope for you yet.

Some are great some are crap, and the enclosure makes a huge difference.... Just like any other sub.

Amp and headunit
SS Teacher replied to Nstickler91's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Typically you set the subsonic filter to just a little below the Fs of the driver in order to prevent mechanical damage, you shouldn't worry too much with a sealed enclosure. Low pass settings are a matter of taste, I like mine a little higher, around 80 or 90 hertz, it depends on how strong your midbass drivers are. -
This simply is the best car audio forum I have found. I could have saved a couple hundred bucks if only I had found this site before jumping back into car audio from a 10 year hiatus. There are some seriously knowledgable pros here.

Will you help me design a SQ Front Stage/Custom A-Pillars?
SS Teacher replied to jonblack's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Audio Control still makes great products, but high end head units seem to be the way to go these days. I have also been out of car audio for a decade and things have changed indeed! -
Subwoofer enclosure material - MDF versus Plywood
SS Teacher replied to jonblack's topic in Advanced Discussion
I've read a couple of posts on birch vs. mdf and the big pros of the birch is weight savings, of course mdf is cheaper. You're spot on about the lack of longevity of the mdf and screwing and unscrewing but they make a great number of fasteners like you mentioned. Madisound and Parts Express should have everything you could ever want in the fastener department. -
Welcome to the forum, there are a bunch of guys on here who must rank among the most knowledgable on the planet in car audio.

If you haven't done any sound deadening you might want to go that route. If you cut down on road noise and vibrations, your system will be perceived lo be louder. Don of SDS is a regular on this forum and will give you great advice and won't sell you anything you don't need.

I don't know about anybody else, but I found the dialogue between Impious and pro-rabbit far more entertaining and informative than the original poster and his refusal to listen to anybody other than his lame-ass shop!

Get the icon, I've run kicker in the past and not that impressed.

I didn't even turn on the stereo when I test drove my 2011 Challenger. I liked the factory radio on my 2006 Scion xB much better. It had some really usable processing options. I've played around quite a bit and am finally happy with my front stage. Factory head unit to an Audio Control LC2i feeding signal to an Audio Control EQL to a Boston Acoustics GT 1005 5 channel amp pushing 50 watts to an older, not Chinese made MB Quart 6 x 9 component set with tweeters in the dash. Now to upgrade the JL 12w0...

After only 1 year my JBL component tweeter died. I am officially done with made in China garbage, this set wasn't even cheap! I replaced them with an MB Quart RVF 269 set I found at a local shop for $140. Made in Germany is on everything, even a sticker on a bag of hardware! This set sounds way better than the JBLs for half the price. I wished they were silk tweeters, but I guess you can't have everything. Now I need to save up another $150 to get that DCON.

That Audio Control LC2i is a sweet piece!

Need help finding right amp
SS Teacher replied to BrokeButLoud:)'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
We need to know how much you want to spend. A lot of people on this forum like the Hifonics amps when they don't have a lot to spend. If you have a bigger budget, check out some of the amps at the SSA store. -
2) 12" GCONS @ 600W RMS Sealed
SS Teacher replied to SnapperKing's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
A 2 ohm load is going to be easier on your electrical system for a daily driver, I don't think there is any audible difference between 1 or 2 ohm.
