  1. SSA will be new and carry a two year warranty

db-r will sell new with a two year warranty and refurbished with a one year warranty

Im not sure if you get a bass knob with the new ones but i know that the refurbished ones do not come with a bass knob

My saz-1500d from db-r came in a sundown box and bass knob and owners manual. it came just like brand new but was a refurb.

  2. Hey guys i have a 2009 silverado crew cab. i asked a few weeks ago how to get more bass out of my truck a few of you guys suggested raising my seats to accomadate larger subs and enclosure. that being said i raised my seats 4 inches. i now 3.8 cubes before any displacments. my questions are im looking for the best spl but i dont think ill have enough space for two 12 btls if i port the box. the box is 55 inches long and a port is gonna take too much space. the subs will be firing down into fatmat so i dont think im gonna hear much "music" out of them. any suggestions? thanks

  3. Put in 4 buckets and have a big ass center console running front to back, the airspace could expand under the seat too. Then you'd have space for bass.

You know, that idea had never even crossed my mind. lol thanks ill concider it

Might be able to score a couple of seats at the junk yard for cheap. Would really open up your options for audio.

And if its a work truck, which I think it is, the junkyard seats would be perfect. You wont have to worry about effing those up because they most likely will be a little scarred allready. Im at pickandpull quite often looking for 2 bucket seats for my truck so I can get rid of my 60/40 and put in a center console.

Thanks if raising them up a few inches is not possible i have seen some decent price buckets on Ebay

  5. I have thought about raising the seats it looks more difficult that it sounds. the way the new silverado rear seat folds it has a rail the back of the cab it slides up and down on. NEEDS FURTHER INVESTIGATION. im willing to make interior mod to make room i just need to keep it a functional 4 seat truck. im not to worried about money as money can be saved up to do anything.the boxes i have now are 7inches high in the front and 4.5 in the rear. plus i have the amps mounted on them. if i could relocate the amps and build one long box i could get up to almost 6 inches inside depth in the center of the box where the sub is thickest. total volume would be about 1.6-1.8 cubes

  6. Id love to have a dual 18" set up in the back lol but defeats the perpose of buying a 4 door truck.

Hence the reason why I said blow-thru. The enclosure is in the bed of the truck, not in the back seat.

iwork construction and need all the bed space i can get. i guess i just wanted to know if anyone sold a slim 12 that would give alot of bass. or if there were better 8s i could run in the space i have, better than the REs i have now. i have plenty of amp just need subs that bump hard in the limited space im working with

  7. yes my name really is steve mead. funny huh? i have followed the other steve who spells his last name with an E at the end for along time. im from the west coast also and he is really a badass. anyways. i have never heard a slim 12 and didnt know if they sounded any good. i can modify my boxs a little to except a 5.75" depth. i see jacob at sundown might release the new 8 around feburary '10. maybe thats the way to go. also my boxes are sealed at .6 cubes and hold two speakers each. RE sayes thats about right for a sealed box. i wondered if porting the boxes and only used one sub per box would yeild better spl? the subs sound starving for more.

Of course it will. If you have the space and want it louder, than put them in a ported enclosure. Trying a different enclosure before buying new drivers is the smart way to go. Just make sure its to RE specs.

SO THEN WOULD TWO 8S IN A PORTED BOX HIT HARDER THAN 4 8S IN A SEALED BOX?
