  1. The Big 3 Wiring is adding wires to your factory wires to help out with your electricl, it consist of 3 wiring additions:

    1. Negative battery terminal to cars chassis

    2. Alternator Case or Engine Block to cars chassis

    3. Positive battery terminal to alternator positive post

THE BIG 3 - SSA Car Audio Forum

Sounds interesting but who knows how to do this. Does an Audio shop? Dealer? I would love to try it but I have no technical skills what so ever. I'm still wondering about the .5 ohm load. How can that possibly happen? As far as the speakers everything was right but the wires going to the inside of the box. Both of the + and - was running from one side of the coils and not the pictured like the instructions. I am not sure it matters but I will have to wait and see in the morning?

  2. Just turn your gain down. That will draw less current.

My gain is slightly below half way a the 10 O'clock and my Audio Control is at the is halfway and the Bass EQ is at the 9 O'clock position. I think any lower there wouldn't be any bass at all or maybe I am going def.

I still have not located a Ho alternator and was told by a major HO provider that they have not made any for the 300C SRT8's or Dodge counterparts.

  3. Are the batcaps your secondary batteries or is one your starting battery and the other you secondary battery. I find it hard to believe you have two Batcaps and still dropping like that, when I had an 800 alone as a secondary battery I was pushing close to 2000rms with small electrical issues (I know my alt is way smaller than a 300C).

Give us more information on your install and make sure sub is D2 ohms and not D1 ohms that is wired to 0.5 ohms. Make sure it is wired right and take it out the box to see if it is. Just cause the shop did it doesn't mean they did it right (hopefully they did and it sis just some small issue). Have you done the Big 3?

I have the Car Battery + 400 batcap and 800 batap.

My setup is JBL 85x4, SAE 1200D, 1 FIq12, Audio Control L6i all wired in 5 gauge. I have not done the big three because I am not sure what it is or where to take it to have it done.

Could you tell me how could the ohms ever run at .5 ohms. I didn't see a diagram for that on http://www.the12volt.com. I am going outside to pull the speaker out to see if the wiring is correct. I would love to show pictures but the one I have are 2MB which can't be uploaded into my gallery. Thanks for helping me, I though there would be more assistance but oh well.

  4. Your sub will only go into 1 ohm or 4 ohms since its dual 2.... if you REALLLY want to, you could put it in 4 ohms, but you would only get about 300 watts off it.... This is how you should wire it to get it to 1 ohm for that "badass" amp :drink40:

    1_2ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

It killing my electrical system. that is the main problem I don't want to blow up my alternator.

Can you provide a diagram for 4 ohm just in case I change my mind. I should have purchase an FI Q Dual 4 ohm sub. I guess You live and learn.

Would cutting the impedance to 4ohms help with reducing the voltage. Can I buy another sub that is 2 ohm stable and run it that way to reduce the voltage draw. I think the RMS at 2ohms for the Sundown is 600 Watts RMS.

  6. Friends

A few months ago i purchased a Sundown Amp SAE 1200D and a FIQ 12 Dual 2 Ohms. I need help in determing the massive cause of my voltage drop inmy 2006 SRT8 with a Batcap 400 and a BatCap 800.

I not sure if my system is hooke dup in 1 ohm impedance or 2 ohm imedance. I know there are many experts here that can help me in just a few seconds. Attach is a picture of my amp and I have annotated where the wires are hooked up. I just need help in determining is the amp wires are in the correct locations. I specifically told the shop to set my subs up in 2 ohms but talking to everyone I think it is set up in 1 ohm impedance which I did not want.

Is there anyone here that can provide me a digram on how to wire the Dual FI Q12 Sub in 2ohm impedance. I would greatly appreciate your help. I will also submit a picture laterof the wires on the sub once I get home and take it out of the box.

Any help in the matter would be greatly appreiated.

Well it appears that I do not know how to post a picture so help with that would be appreaiated as well. For the recors on the Sundown SAE 1200 D amp the wires are on the + & - on the inside, not the outer + & -.

  7. Juilius nailed it on the head, been real busy with lots of things lately. I just hit back all my recent emails last night, so let me know if you didnt get a response.

Also, Julius, your box is finished, just waiting on my printer to get up and running again so I can print off the FedEx label!

Cool Beans, do you have an ETD or shipment date?

  8. Hello, I tried to contact the good folks at Fisher Customs through their contact link on the website, with no luck. I'd like to purchase a sealed enclosure for my Fi Q12 Dual 2. I'd like to get in touch with the guys at Fisher and start a dialog about the build. Thanks for any and all help.

    Briz

E-mail Dylan Kirby for your box design first dylan@fishercustoms.com, then one Dylan designs your box you will purchase the design from him and he ill forward the design to

BJ Fisher. BJ actually builds the box and Dylan designs the box. I am having my box built for an FI Q12 by BJ and just waiting for the final product. They will respond to your email, but understand they are really busy with building quality products, so just be patient and wait until they respond to your email. They both have always responded to my emails in a quick and short time period.

  9. Mark do you happen to know where he's moving?

Found this in a previous thread:

'I'm in the process of packing up and moving back to Kelowna right now.......

if this enclosure is being used it will turn up eventually

BTW.....I'll still be available for SSA products during the move over the holidays but the enclosure builds

will be on hold untill after new years....... (BIGGER SHOP) and 20 x the population to work with :santa:'

    Cool,

I will just have to wait until he sorts through his massive emails. Seems like he does really good work and I am looking forward to doing business with him!

  10. Way to help him guys :drink40:

    Go SSA Team!

Well it appears that there is no place on earth that has the Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D in stock! So I might pull the trigger on the Sundown Audio SAE-1200D. I think I will be fine with this amp though!

Does anybody know any alternative methods in contacting Custom Car Audio Home I am trying to order a box but can't seem to get a reply either by phone or E-mail. I also tried contacting fisher customs and have not gotten a reply from them either.

Trevor is in the middle of moving, and opening a new shop. BJ is your best bet for sure.

Cool, I will try to hit him up!

    BJ??????????

Funny thing is when I go to pound that sound website I don't seem to find an order cart. I will give them a few days to respond. Both sites seem to do great work too! Who is BJ?

  13. All the information that he gave you are the pros and cons of each amplifier, both will do the job.

    OldSkool_08, JPagan1993 and jay-cee.

You guys are awesome. I wish I had more knowledgeable people like you all working in my division. It would make my 9 month deployments so much easier. I take it it is safe to orders from Sound Solution Audio - Quality Subwoofers - Car Audio Forum - Car Stereo I hope they are in stock as I have ordered stuff before online to only be told they are not in stock but being advertised like they were. I will email them to check before I order. Once again thanks for the help in this matter?

  14. Btw if you have 1 dual 2 ohm sub woofer it can be wired to either to a 4 ohm load or 1 ohm. Series will yield 4 ohm and Parallel will yield 1 ohm.

    Old School

Thank for the reply. Are these amps underrated? In regards to your post above are you saying I can hook my FI Q12 in a 1 ohm load or a 2 ohm load becuase my sub is Dual 2 Ohms. Forgive my ignorance, but I am new. Finally, is there any unique pro's and cons to either of them?

  15. Friends.

I have ordered a FI Q12 (Dual 2 OHMS) single sub that will go into a ported sub-woofer enclosure just as soon as I can get in contact with pound that sound. First, I am trying to find out what's the difference between the following two amps, if there is any.

    a. Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D = RMS 600 x 1 watts @ 2 ohms

    b. Sundown Audio SAE-1200D = RMS 600 x 1 watts @ 2 ohms

Secondly, will either of these two be sufficient enough to power that particular sub since both are 2ohms x 1 600 RMS--------------------(underrated) ?

  16. There are some box builders on the forum that build some awesome boxes.

What he said. I found someone on here also who helped me with my box build.

I contacted fisher first as I sent an email to them. I am just going down the list, so If I don't here anything back from them by the weeks end, I will move to the next vendor. I still have not heard from Nick or Scott on my purchase. They must be really busy. I will give it a couple of more days before I start to worry.

I been looking at their site and I particularly like this box. 2.0 @ 30 Hz- Single 12 [2.0@30Hz_12_33Wx12.5Dx17.5H] - $12.00 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce Does anybody here run a ported Q12, and if so how do you like it?

  18. I'm sure you will be pleased with your purchase. Fi subs really are great. I recently ordered an SSD 18 and am very pleased with it.

Now talking about an enclosure, you not suggesting your going to be a prefab one are you ? You should always make your own enclosure. Its the most important part of a system build.

Well, I didn't know pre-fab boxes are bad. I would build my own but I don't have the tools, comptence or time since Grad school is really kicking my butt. I can't seem to find a website that will custom design or build a box.

Altrenatively, I was looking at the HSR12G Single 12" sealed 1.2 made by bassworx. "http://www.bassworx.com/hsr.html"

    What do you think?

  19. Hey everyone.

i am new to the forum and just wanted to say hi to you all. I just ordered my first Q sub-woofer ever and I hope it is as good as people say. However, I went through the Paypal order process and have emailed Scott, but I did not get a reply back. Has anybody heard from him lately, I hope I just didn't throw 270 bucks into no mans land.

Additionally, I am still up in the air on my set up. Should I utilize a single Q12 in a ported box or dual D12's in a sealed box. I plan on running a NINe.1 amp on both setups. Additionally, I am finding it very difficult to find ported sub woofer enclosure for the required specs of the D12, any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I hop to have the 300C SRT8 Rocking soon!
