  1. okay so my 1997 jeep wrangler's stock alt produces 90amps. Im looking into buying two sundown sa-12's, feeding each 600watts at 1ohm. So my question is will my stock alt suffice?
  2. I have not done the big 3 yet, but I will when I order the subs =)
  3. alright thanks guys for the fast response. Once I get the new amp and subs in, i'll test the voltage and see how much it drops and go from there.

    Which Sub for my enclosure?

Yeah, thats the problem.I'm using a stealth box so I don't lose my t-top storage in my hatch. I could do a dual setup in the back, but I would lose my storage space for them. This is what I would do considering im in the same boat as you (space problem), measure out the space you have, get a custom box built, and stick it in the back. When you need space, take out your enclosure and set it inside your house or whatever. When you dont need the space, stick the enclosure back in. I have a single 10" sub in my 2door jeep wrangler and its nice but its just not enough bass. Ive tried to figure out all possible ways to fit more subs in, and the simplest is just to take the box out when i need space...

Need an enclosure built for 2 SA-12's

Hey Rodney, I dont wanna jack your thread but im looking into getting 2 sa-12's myself. I was wondering how much power your gonna feed them? I know there rated at 600watts rms but everyone says thats underrated. What you gonna run? thanks
  7. So right now I have an alpine type-r 10" sub in a sealed box. Im planning on buying another alpine type-r, would it sound weird if i put it in a ported box? Or should I just have it match the other sub in a sealed box? So basically, 1 sealed & 1 ported vs 2 sealed whats your input? Thanks
  8. Hello all, Just joined ssa to learn what I have not, and to help when I can. I live in Tucson, az, usa. Oh and I like car audio

    sealed and ported?

I have a fair amount of space: between fenderwell and rear seat = 17" (width) between rear of driver seat and tailgate = 38" (length) height = anything under 17" would be good. (depth) volume: 6.35 cubic ft. The subs will have to point either up or to the side of the vehicle. Im going for spl. Im looking at the hifonics atlas 12" subs (ATL12D4 12" DVC 4 Ω 1200 W MAXX 600 W RMS) Im trying to spend under $300 for the subs. How would those hifonic 12"s compare to a single 15" SSA ICON 15D1/D2 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/15%22-SSA-ICON-15D1%7B47%7DD2.html#

    sealed and ported?

I decided that Im going to leave the 10" sub in the sealed box. When I need space I'll use the 10" sub and leave the rest of my jeep free. When I don't need the extra space ill run a bigger enclosure with either 2 12's or a 15. Then I can just switch boxes... Im looking into getting the Hifonics BXi 1210D amp # RMS Power Output: 1 x 450 W @ 4 Ohms # RMS Power Output: 1 x 900 W @ 2 Ohms # RMS Power Output: 1 x 1200 W @ 1 Ohm Now I just need to decide if I should get a 15" or 2 12"s... thanks everyone for your input, always steering me into the right direction
