yeah, the way to get loud is over powering. the trick is to have enough brains to know when to turn down that bass knob

that's awesome

at least you've narrowed it down. which is somewhat of a relief

well aq has been good to you in the past...not a bad choice at all

gotcha man. and i looked at your sub setup. you could get a lot louder if you put a aq 2200 on it if you were looking to competing

be careful with all the cuttin out. i know you're trying to de bug the problem but if it keeps cutting out and sending that clipped signal to your subs you could end up with a bad voice coil. which is what just happened to me.

it's probably your DMM.
If your coils were shot it would read crazy numbers.
What is the problem with the sub?
yeah i messed up a voice coil in my btl not too long ago. one side read 1 and the other VC was going anywhere from .3 to 1.2

well the checkout thing on FI isn't working for me. I probably wont make the show on the 26th now. shit happens

does it cover the shipping when you send it back to me?
edit: nevermind, it adds it in once you go through the checkout...

so do i just buy the recone kit on there site and select "yes" for "send in sub" and then just ship it to them tomorrow?

i didn't think it would cause it so soon.
it's just hard when youre 16, working two jobs trying to pay for thousands of dollars of equipment, and stuff messing up like this.

i didn't know until after it happened. and the gains were turned all the way down, i just didn't think it would do this. look i've had a lot of problems and i didn't know what happened

not intentionally.
its not my fault that i was sent a bad amp. yes it was bad, they came out and said they sent me one that had been previously returned.
and the only time i played it so it clipped was to test to see if it was working or to show one of the guys at the shop what was happening

i just figured it never saw real power, my only experience with voice coils was burning them from too much power.
and it clipped a few times yes, but i monitored it and tried to avoid it. but the sub's been sitting for a while now after i got the money for new batteries and new 0/1 awg wires i tried to hook it up again and now the voice coils bad.

so i bought my btl 12 in late march. and i just got the money for my new amp. a alpine m2000. but the amp kept cutting out. and i tested the voice coils on the sub and i've got a bad one. it seems to me that it was never right. and i was wondering what i should do about it. i'll call FI in the morning but do you guys have any suggestions?

at least tune it to 40 hz, maybe think about doing a bandpass box??.....i also have a fi btl 12 and 2k watts on it.
and i just put my new batteries in my car, i put a kinetik 1800 under the hood and a 2400 in the back. im thinking i'll pull at least 144's with my setup but i cant get metered till the 26th of this month

orrr you could get a xcon 12 and build a 4th order band pass box which would SLAM

how loud and clear is the 12 inch fi bl
in Fi Products

it'll be loud. it'll probably vibrate your car pretty well and bring out all the little rattles you don't hear till bass is in your car. and it'll probably vibrate the cars beside you. and 33hz will allow you to get loud and still have a good sounding box. sounds like a good daily setup...
