    Under Seat Subwoofer Enclosure

I have 2 10's in a sealed box with .75 cubes each under the back seat of my GMC with 200 watts to each of them and it sounds amazing, hits hard, low, and clear. The only thing I want now is more power. Just my $0.02. BTW my 10's are less than 5" tall and not shallow mount.

    IA vs SSA

I am running a Pioneer DEH P7200hd and two Diamond Audio D1 6.5 components in my 2002 GMC Sierra. I want to run two 10"subs in a fitted down firing box under the rear seat(extended cab). I'm planning on using a Sundown SAZ1000D at 2ohms. The box I would like to use is only .77cu ft., which subs do you think would perform better in that limited airspace; 2 Incriminater Audio 10" 187series or 2 SSA 10"DCON or 2 Resonant Engineering 10" SRx or 2 Diamond Audio 10"D1 ????? Please help, thank you. p.s. any other suggestions would also be helpful, but I'd like to stay away from mainstream brands if possible

Thanks everyone for the input, I'm going to go with 2 12" IA 187s on the SAZ1000D.

    Amp vs Amp

That's not completely tru, ther are a couple of brand that are overrated and a few that even suck. I went through 3 Kenwood amps and they all over heated, traded them for MTX and it worked wonderfully. I think that's what people are trying to find out, if one brand is overrated, or overheats, or sounds crappy, etc...

It doesn't really but I like the amp I've chosen and more powerful subs tend to be taller (too tall to fit in the box under the seat) and usually require more airspace than I have available. So just keep the gains on the amp turned down. You don't have to have everything maxed. [/qu I just might do that, that's why I'm in here to get info and suggestions. I havn't built a system in 3 years and I dont even remember what the T/S parameters stand for, so I kinda lost touch. I also don't have time to re-learn everthing, I work 60hrs a week and have 4 kids to spend time with on my off time. So, thank you very much for the advice.

yep, thats what the shop says. Unless someone knows of a bigger box that will fit under the back seat of a 2002 extended cab Sierra, that would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Um...lack of experience with non mainstream subs?? I used to run subs just to be loud, but now that I'm older I'd actually like to hear my music (while still being reasonably loud). I am extremly open to suggestions, in fact I am currently leaning toward IA 187 or SSA Dcons, but that's posted in another thread.
  11. I need to find the right amplifier for the job and there are a few selections I'm not familiar with. I am planning on useing 2 Diamond audio D1 10' 200rms in a sealed downfiring box to go under the seat of an '02 GMC Sierra extended cab. My choices so far are RE XT 800.2----not to familiar with these amps Diamond Audio D400.1----these either, but I have heard them on the same set up in the same truck sounded great,(also most expensive of the amps) Hifonics BXi1201----had this one before, it was awesome, but it was for SPL, I want to lean a little more towards, SQ this time. Any other suggestions would be helpful, I am trying to stay around $300, and I need at least 400 watts at 2 ohms. I'm am also trying to stay away from mainstream brands but am finding it difficult to judge these non-CEA2006 rated amps. Thank you
  12. I apologize for my mistake, and any confusion it may have caused, but what I need is 200-300 watts rms, and since I havn't actually purchased the subwoofers yet their impedance is irrelevent. thanks.
