    L7 or X... decissions decissions...

Did you call and talk to Kim? We have sent in 6 year old subs, and they have never given us a problem. If Kim can't help, Talk to Jess, he's the lead tech. If all else fails refer it to Alice, sh'e the owner of DD? Any problems, email me, I'll call them for you. or pm me and I'll give you my number. I'll help you get it worked out if I can.

    Subwoofer placement

I cut the MDF to fit, I seal everything with Polyurathane adhesive if a tube(like a caulking tube), then use spray faom sealent to seal on top of the poly sealant. would that be enough behind the seat and on the deck? or should I reinforce the sides of the trunk with MDF? I will be putting viscoelastic vibration dampener on every trunk pannel? Is there anything else I may need to address?
  3. I love the 7995, however I was hoping for better S/N, as well as a higher preamp voltage, or possibly balanced line out for my future amp upgrades. I am an SPL junky/ Competitor, that hopes for sufficient clearity out of a system to run SQ in the near future.

    L7 or X... decissions decissions...

Check out Digital Designs 9500 series, my soundoff team is running 2 vehicles with 9515s. Meg's is running on a concept CC-D2400 1/2 ohm daily driver, 148.3 db, 1 15" sub, 1 amp. The other one is hitting 150.3 with one sub running at 2 ohms on a pair of strapped concept CC-D2400A s, 1 15, 2 amps. Both on an audiocontrol 3065. I tune boxes to the car, not the sub. run the sub in a box, outside of the car with the mic a foot from the box. place the sub in the car, then run it with the mic on the dash, see what freq you gain the most at, tune the box to it. I watched an owner of 2 15" L7s jump out of one of our cars because he couldn't handle the sound pressure level. I would find the nearest DD dealer in your area. If you call DD they will direct you(405)239-2800 is there number american made in Oklahoma City.

    Subwoofer placement

Does anyone have any ideas about replacing the rear deck of a car with 3/4 inch MDF and mounting the sub and ports firing against the back glass, using the trunk as a box? I am planning on doing this to a 94 Grand Prix. I'm hoping that this turns the trunk into a box, and theoretically gives the drivers compartment the transfer function of a hatchback. anyone have any ideas?
  6. Has alpine made a good ?H/U since they stopped porudtion of the 7995? No internal amp 4V output X 3 I anyone knows a better deck for a reasonable price, let me know, but the 7995 is they cleanest H/U I have ever heard. I think they went down hill from there.

    1/0 Fuse Size

I run stricktly 200A breakers, I have a standard automotive battery under the hood, and 20 ft or 1/0 running to a optima D31M in the trunk, front and rear 200A breakers, never had a problem.
  8. I tend ro recommend Concept, the CC-D1200 puts out 1800rms @ 1 Ohm, and can be daily driven at 1/2 ohm. For comp burps you can run these amps down to 1/3 ohm, without ever getting it hot, or hurting it. Not to mention they provide clean power.
