  1. OK, take a DD 9500 seies, tune a 4-5 cu. ft. box to 30-35 hz, have awesome SQ out of it. and still hit around 148-149 db in a stock class sedan with everything in the trunk. The DD's are untouchable, take a good look at the Treo CSX, then my avitar, notice any similarities? How could you honestly give any props to a company that merely clones a product? as for audioque, the HD serious is merely a 9500 series DD without the free flow cooling, and with different spiders. this company was started by the late Alice Sandu's husband, yes she created DD. This is all a family business, and they do it very well.

  2. no it is etched into the metal, but the power LED is blue, that add's a nice little touch. This is the new eclipse marine line. I just got it off of ebay for 145.50 shipped. Pretty bad that I have an amp that alot of people would love to have(Eclipse 3640) but I won't even be running it.

  3. Hi peeps, got directed over here by a current member (Mega Heavy Bass) as I'm selling a bit (just the one bit) of kit to him.. Had a quick look areound, looks like a good site.. I'm out of the audio scene now (dont have a car since my last one got nicked :( ) anyways, my background in car audio can be viewed Here . Hopefully I'll have the money to get back into it one day (with a better car!) but I'm not getting my hopes up.. so I'll just lurk around here and keep looking at everyone's hard work!

    Thats all folks.. Cheers :)

(If anyone's interested, I got a supermoto that I love to hurl around.. a couple of pics Here )

I have seen pics of that box with the insert, awesome job, what DD was that?

  4. That is basically what I'm planning on doing to my Grand Prix, cut out the rear deck, build a new reaer deck covered with grill cloth, one that will go in, and can be pulled out. Wall behing the seat, build the bottom, top W/sub hole and ports(if going ported) and sides of the box seal the back half to the front wall. slide it into the trunk, seal the back half, to the existing wall behind the seat. add another peice of mdf, cut to seal behind the box. Obviously this depth is limited to the depth of the rear deck. use spray foam insulation around the edges to make sure it is 100% sealed off. Drop your sub in through the rear deckinto the sub hole in the top of the box, put your grill clothed rear deck back in. then finish the trunk off however you want.

  5. our team has 3 7995s that is what our stock class cars running 1 15 are hitting upper 140's low 150's on. just incase we decide to run Iasca we added RCA 2 Ainet aux inputs. because at that volume Iasca will require us to run our stock class car's outside the vehicle. But we all want at least 160's needless to say the other 2 team members are leaving stock class because they want more amps. When you are running 8800Wats RMS to a single sub, you need as little distortion as possible right, we still haven't blown our 9500 series DD's

  6. would it be better to build a large slot port, with the 3/4 in MDF behind the seat as 1 side, the modified 3/4 inch rear deck as the top(with the 12 and dual ports), make a back and sides out of MDF and build it in the trunk?

That would still solve the problem of having to pressurize the trunk area too.

  7. I hate DD, they wont send me a recone for my mid.

Did you call and talk to Kim?

We have sent in 6 year old subs, and they have never given us a problem. If Kim can't help, Talk to Jess, he's the lead tech. If all else fails refer it to Alice, sh'e the owner of DD? Any problems, email me, I'll call them for you. or pm me and I'll give you my number. I'll help you get it worked out if I can.
