  1. I have already built one box it sounds good but it has a little port noise I think it could be better though I have no problem building a box its the tuning I have the problem with but im kinda catching on I dont no why getting a btl would be a problem though Its just a more powerful sub yes it requires more power and you will need to up grade your power supply but that's really not that difficult but yea it can be a little pricey and Im building another one wright now my last one was a slot port Im gonna try a round port on this one but I think I might try building a slot port also and play with the tuning a little just for the hell of it the specs on my box Im running now are 53wide by 16 deep 9.5" high on one side and 8 " on the other the port in it is 4.5" wide coming out of the end of the box not sure what the two heights are without going out to the truck to measure it if you want it I can get it though and 32" long

  2. Do you even have room for 2 12's?

If you are giving up your backseat, throw an 18" BTL in there.

i would NEVER advise someone like this a BTL...seriously no offense......thats my thoughts

    :+1::lolup:

Your one to laugh. Do you read your own posts? What do you suggest genius?

    Ouch.

OP if you haven't already, and I don't think you have, try out different boxes. Assuming you can build your own. You may yeild better results just by doing that.

  3. so far im running a T600_ 4 channel for my highs with fosgate power series components 1 T 1000 1bd for my sub a Bl 12" run off a stock 6 Disk head unit o Gauge power to my amps my sub is ran by 8Gauge wire don't remember what wire I used on my highs and I have a half ass big three only the block to chassis is o Gauge Im not sure how to go about running a second wire off my alt because my factory wire goes through a fuse block and I don't want to Fri my electrical oh and a 4 fared capacitor I know I need to change the stock head unit but in order to keep my on star a navigation along with the steering wheel controls I have to change a bunch of crap out and I haven't open that up to find out what Ill need or how to do it with out messing something up Its to my understanding that it will have to be reprogrammed if I disconnect it has any body done this on an 08 chevy

  4. I just asked a simple ? lol Im not planing to go ape shit with this truck my truck cant take that much due to the fact the electrical cant take it yet and I have two kids that ride back there also I cant find a bigger alt for it if I do and upgrade it It will void the warranty Im planing to add a second battery but I dont think that will do much good

  5. no the air space is smaller for the q and they can be ran in a sealed enclosure so yea they will fit there's a guy on this forum with the same truck running to qs in his truck ported

  6. I have a bl " running off of a T1000 1bd amp at 1 Ohm my ? is how much more can I through at it and would it hit any harder if I did also would it be worth buying another amp

  7. does it matter what side of an enclosure your port is located on ? my sub is mounted in a up fire position on one end and I WOULD LIKE TO no if it makes a difference if my port goes out the other end of my box just opposite of my sub basically firing at the door

  8. my sub will be an up fire on the top that is 16" deep if I put the port on the end opposite of the sub coming out of the end of the box will it still work the port would then be firing into the door but it should have at least 5-6 " clearance and just to make sure I understand you right the 30sq inches for the port thats the size of the opening of the port and just make it 32" long correct ? thanks again for all your help Im just about finished with it just makeing sure I put the port in right

  9. ok if I go with a slot port my box is shaped like a wedge in order to make it 32" long I will have to make an L shaped port and the port will narrow from the out side port opening to the inside port opening will this change anything

  10. I actually get that you have 3.13 cubes before displacement. Assuming 3/4" wood, 14.5" x 51.5" x 7.25 (average of 8 and 9.5 minus 1.5" wood thickness) / 1728 sq in/ft = 3.13. Take out sub displacement = 2.95.

As for port, a 30 sq. inch slot port 32" long will yield you a box about 2.2 cubes tuned to 32 hz.

If you want to use round ports, you could use one 6" round port that's 27" long will give you a 2.4 cube box tuned to 32 hz, or two 4" ports 24" long (2.5 cubes net), or three 4" ports 47" long would give about 2 cubes net.

IMO, slot port would be easiest.

  11. Im building an enclosure for a Bl 12 I would like to tune it to tune it to 32 Hrz only Im not sure how to get the results Im looking for the specs for the enclosure im building is 16" deep 53"wide 8" tall on the back side and 9.5" tall on the front side I plan to fire it up I will be running it 1 ohm with a T1000 fosgate amp can sombody tell me what size port and length to use round or slot pot ? total air space is 2.79cuft with 0.18 deducted for sub displacement its 2.61cuft

  12. ok if I go with a slot port with the specs of my enclosure as listed above your saying about 30sq inch do you think that would tune it to 32 Hrz and if so how wide and tall should I make the port opening also how long should the port be I know this might be to much to ask but really would like to build this thing already so I can finally hear what this thing can do Ive been running two fosgate p3 shallows and Ive heard farts hit harder than they do so please give me all the help you can anybody
