    Problems with xcon

You heard wrong. The recone will fix it all. The damage has nothing to do with you hooking the positive and negative up backwards. It's caused by over excursion as Nick has already explained. User error. yep had this happened to me with a pair of audiobahns i had hooked up to my home theater system.. those hellicopter scenes fck up car subwoofers.. lol dont even get me started on that scene..

    Daber Subs in use

Nothing at all wrong with their logo. Nice, clean and simple. I'd rather have equipment that looks "amateurish" and performs great than something that's all bling and craps out after a week. yes but isnt the point of entering a business to make the most amout of money as possible? just thought he might want to enter into the mainstream...since thats where the money is at.. the logo isnt to mainstream appealing.

What size is your enclosure? volume, sealed, ported? sealed.. 1.5 cubic feet. per sub.. The recommended enclosure size sealed is 1.12cuft each, so your close enough. Heres a link to the manual Linky The mounting hole diameter is 10.91 inches, so make sure the holes that are already made aren't larger then this. They only handle 200 watts, and you have 250watts total (125watts to each sub), so don't get all jumpy and turn the gain all the way up or they aren't gonna last very long yeah just going to replace them so i can sell the box subs and amp for 300 only used it for less then a week.. lol my friend wants them.. 600 system for 300 she is getting a good deal.. dont you think?

For 400 bucks what would you do?

dang thats sad 0nly 300 watts. ps your 1200 watts probably will only hit about 800 on a good day if all electrical is good and back up battery is applied if you want to run A/C head lights etc.. i say go with 2 dcons or 2 ORIONS XTR15 2 OHM .. THEY RUN ABOUT 180 A PEACE AND HIT 300 WATTS RMS..EACH SINCE YOU DONT WANT MUCH POWER AND WANT GOOD SOUND..

hey on the FI Q how low should i set the subsonic level?? and exacly what is subsonic level mean?? i got sealed box 2.3cf The sub-sonic filter removes bass frequencies that are too low to be heard by the human ear, hence the term sub-sonic, the main purpose of a SSF is to cut out low freq. to prevent damage to your sub when in a ported enclosure. If you enclosure is tuned to...say 32Hz...this means you are producing 32Hz at 0dB...as the scale drops below 0dB the sub has the potential of reaching an over excursion limit (cone will move more than it is made to) and in result you will damage you sub. The enclosure can not supply enough back pressure to support the suspension of the sub below its tuning freq. For sealed box, it is not so important, but for basreflex boxes it is, because speaker excursion goes rapidly up under vent tuning frequency. So you can blow your 1000W speaker with 200 Watts easily without smoke. The voice coil can hit the backplate of magnetic assembly or speaker cone can leave the basket and fly somewhere...; so if you want to have 30Hz in your music, you should tune your bassreflex box to 30-35Hz and cut it somewhere around 30Hz, because if 20Hz tone come, your speaker is going to crash when fully powered. aahh thank you sir.

Prepping car for a long trip

check the engine belt.. dont want it to snap on the way there right?check oil and fluids..check for any leaks.. and make sure you pack a couple of 40oz mickeys for the trip
  20. my car lights flicker when running my sound system 15 if q 1500wrms with soundstream rubicon 2500 sub set up at 4 ohms = 800-900wrms for amp....the ground is secure and in a solid place metal to metal.. what else could be happeneing. my bass knob is turned only to middle when this happens meaning is probably hitting at 600-700 wrm.... i checked my car battery and its fully charged duralast gold wich is bigger then optima yellow top.. and i also have a kinetic 600 on back they the lights flicker when my subs hit high sounding bass. uuggh can only imagine whats going to happen when i connect the subs down to 1 ohm meaning 2500 watts rms when summer is over. What could be causing my lights to flicker?? low voltage?
