  1. Looks can be decieving . The JL12W6 weighs only 22 lbs. This Fi Q12 weighs 43 lbs. I even tried pushing the cone downward using 3 fingers and it wouldn't even move. I have to use both my hands to push the cone downward. Compared to my 12W6, I only use 1 finger to move the cone all the way the down. LOL!

I just couldn't imagine those monster BTL, those sub can kill. :suicide-santa:

  2. I finally picked up my Fi Q12 from UPS warehouse after a torturing wait for 2 days. :suicide-santa: The reason is the package was droped around 5:28 pm last friday at the UPS warehouse and I came there few minutes early hoping that the truck will drop it off but was sadly told that the package is still inside the truck and the warehouse is closing at 5:30 pm. :suicide-santa: The guy at the UPS asked me.. " Is this sub inlcudes the box already?" LOL! I told him it's just the custom sub from Ficaraudio. He said "I have 2 Alpine Type R's that probably weighs the same as that" lol!

Anyways, I finally picked it up today and here's some pics.:

  4. I was tracking the UPS shipment but I noticed this message today:

    02/06/2010 13:15 RETURNED TO SHIPPER

02/06/2010 12:15 PACKAGE DATA PROCESSED BY BROKERAGE. WAITING FOR CLEARANCE / RETURNED TO SHIPPER

Is this means that the package was returned to shipper again?! :puzzled:

The shipment date was not posted anymore but it was supposed to be delivered this Friday. :(

  6. Thanks. I'll post some pics but video clips and sound clip will take while. I still have to find or design a better box for it. I have my old Bassworkx 1.7 cub ft, ported box but Im not sure if I can use that box without damaging the sub? It's just a temporary box tho. I now the required is between 1.8-3 cb ft. Can I add longer port tube to add extra volume?

  7. lol i sold my old subs to get fi's went 3 weeks with no bass.........even that felt like a year lol

LOL! You should have donated that woofer to me while I'm waiting for my Fi Q12. I'm dying already, car has no bass :badmood2:

My stock system has a 8" sub but it sounds like hammer hitting a plywood. lol! For now I just drool at those youtube videos of Q12's :pornsmilie:

  8. After turning a $400 high quality woofer into a huge paper weight, I guess I'm just being over protective now. Even if this Fi subs can take a beating. lol!

That's user error then, totally different issue.

The 12W6 I had was refurbished. I bought it from Ebay seller that seems a legit store that sells alot of car audio stuff. The serial number sticker outside the box was scratched off. My error for buying a high quality sub from a vendor who is not an authorized JL audio dealer.

  9. WTF? How come the Fi Q10 weighs heavier than Fi Q12? :o

I didn't officially weigh mine. It's just what the shipping label said. LOL

Thank you, LOL! Anyways, my blown JL 12W6 only weighs 20Lbs. Wow! These Fi subs are on steroids. :fing23:

They also take an extra 400 to 900 rms, so it's all relative. I'm going to be trying a 13W6v2 soon, and I'll give you a review if you are looking for one.

Sure, post some video clips too...The W6's subs aren't meant to be pushed too much when it comes to power handling. I guess that's the reason why JL came up with their monster W7's subs. I can't wait to get my Fi Q12. I want to match it with a clean amp about 0.1 - 0.05% T.H.D.

    ported or sealed?

    ported

I wouldn't worry about what percentage Total Harmonic Distortion your amp supplies then.

  13. I'm also from Canada and waiting for my Fi Q12. I just ordered mine last monday. I can't stand listening to music inside my car without a sub. :( Damn! JL 12W6 gave up on me after a year.
