  1. so im thinking about getting a ssd 12 or 15 for christmas so i still got a few mouths to choose but my question is how much of a difference would i hear between a ssd 12 or 15 compared to my alpine type r 10 that i have right now. the amp i have now is a alpine mrp-m500 and idk what amp i would upgrade to. also would i need any upgrades to my electrical its stock right now? my car is a 1997 honda accord.

  2. Is it ok if i face the subwoofer and port up instead on forward or backward in my trunk. 2010 altima.. would it make a difference?

might make your trunk rattle more and it might be louder you just got to play around with it

  3. This is a big system for a beginner !!! You should be very loud !

Don't forget the front speakers. What do you have ? Any amp for them ? With so much bass (yes, so much!!!) you will need to upgrade the mids & highs soon!!!

    Congrats bro:fing34: :fing34:

nahh my car is goiing to be a lease and i dont want to mess with the door speakers. My friend has 2000 watts rms in his car and he dident change the speakers... you can hear the song nice and clear. I have evrything ready, except i need about 10 feet extra of 0 guage wire for the big 3. Whats the best 0 gauge wire you can buy oh and i need a rca cables good ones not cheap. What is the best website to buy it from. Also im not going to put an extra battery. my friend has 2000 watts rms and he only did the big 3 and his voltage does not drop at all

unless you both have the same car with all the same stuff in it you really cant compare the two

  4. ok im building a box for my grand cherokee let me know if this box is good ok H-18 W-39 D-30 Port H-6in W-24 D-10 what do you think this box will be tuned to please help

lol why is your port so wide and short

  5. Good choice of equipment for your first setup!! Always feels good to build your own box. Keep the pictures comin'.:D

hey did you like your type r components. the sub seems to over power the type s's and im thinking about upgrading to those next. what amp did you use for them to?

I still love my type-r's. The tweeters and 6.5 both did best on-axis. They like power so I was feeding them 100 watts each. I was using the MRP-F600.

    what does on-axis mean?

on-axis refers to the speaker being mounted pointing directly at your ear. You don't really need to worry about on-axis mounting, just a point I was bringing it up.

What I would worry about is that the speakers are mounted super solid in your door. I suggest you mount an MDF ring inbetween the door metal and speaker to decouple(seperate) the two, this will help the speaker work to its full potental and not resonate(unwanted vibration) as easy. Then get an amp and it will make all the difference in output.

As far as a good ground point, I recommend drilling a hole in the trunk floor and bolting the ground wire to the trunk floor with a lock nut on the under side. (sandwich the floor):)

yeah thats what im doing i just have to find a place where i can drill in to

  7. You really only need to amp the front speakers.

yeah i was thinking type s 6x9's in the back no amp and type r 6.5's in the door with a 2 channel amp that does 100 watts per channel. what amp would be good for that?

You don't really need back speakers. Save the money and spend it on your front stage. I personally would buy the MRP-F300 and bridge it to the fronts. Any amp that does 100 watts RMS x2 will fit your needs though.

ok thanks. it will be while before i upgrade
