Thank god. I am in the middle of building mine. Its my first box and its turning out to be very good. Ohh and you email FI for ur enclosure dimensions

I emailed Scott@Fi for the box dimensions. Is it true that if i use those dimensions, its a prefab box? Someone told me. If i use FI's box dimensions, is that like buying a box right off the shelf?

i got it. it wasent that hard, but at first i thought it was. What i did was pre drill one corner and the other, the right and left side, then i would apply glue, put back the sheet of mdf back then drill 2 screws on the left and right side. Then i would do the middle since it is now secure

I have my 3/4 thick mdf cut. Took me about 3 hours just to cut it. The only thing im confused about is putting 2 pieces of wood together. Would i have to apply wood glue to the 2 pieces, attach them together, and wait till it dries, then predrill, then screw? Im really confused. This is my first box. I dont want the edges to crack.

Does it really matter what RCA cables you use from your headunit to your amp?

solder the wire into the terminal so it will be nice and tight and it will give u maximum power...

im getting my system installed next week. Am i going to get bored of it after a while? Will it not seem as loud as it was when i first put it in because i got used to it? I am going to run 1500 watts rms. i have a sundown sae 1200d, 12in fi bl fully loaded, 0 gauge amp kit, and im going to do the big 3 upgrade. This is all going in a 2010 maxima

This is a big system for a beginner !!! You should be very loud !
Don't forget the front speakers. What do you have ? Any amp for them ? With so much bass (yes, so much!!!) you will need to upgrade the mids & highs soon!!!
Congrats bro:fing34:
nahh my car is goiing to be a lease and i dont want to mess with the door speakers. My friend has 2000 watts rms in his car and he dident change the speakers... you can hear the song nice and clear. I have evrything ready, except i need about 10 feet extra of 0 guage wire for the big 3. Whats the best 0 gauge wire you can buy oh and i need a rca cables good ones not cheap. What is the best website to buy it from. Also im not going to put an extra battery. my friend has 2000 watts rms and he only did the big 3 and his voltage does not drop at all

if the box is built right and you get ur amp and head unit setup right you should easily be able to keep up with or be louder then the 2 mtx's. especially if you go ported. sealed box's make you lose alot of output. now ur best friend on the otherhand u probably wont be able to touch if his is as loud as it should be. and yes for ur first system this will be very loud. i could only wish i had that quality equip for my first system. i think with the big 3 you should be ok electrical wise. i'd go aahead and get a voltage meter just to be safe
When i was in my friends car the 2 jl w7's 12's, i could barely breath. It pounded my heart and chest. I want to know if mines going to do that.

Im just saying is that system pretty good and loud for a begginer?

I just turned 17 and im getting a 2010 maxima next week. I ordered a 12in fi bl fully loaded and a sundown sae 1200d. I also ordered a stinger 0 gauge amp kit. Scott@ficaraudio sent me an enclosure that is 2.3cf and tuned to 33hz. I am planning on doing the big 3 upgrade, all 0 gauge and building the enclosure myself. This is the first time im getting a system. Is it going to be VERY loud for my very fisrt time having a system. The sundown sae 1200d is capable of producing 1500 watts rms at normal operating voltage, thats what jacob fuller at sundown audio told me by email. So is that 1500 watts rms going to pound my chest?
I have heard, in my school, 2 mtx 7500's in a sealed enclosure. The amp was mtx it was about 800wrms. The wire from the battery to the amp was 4 gauge, and plus the enclosure was right off the shelf. Would i be able to blow this person away?
I have also heard, from my best friend, 2 jl w7's the 12's. He has 0 gauge wiring, and the big 3 upgrade. He has 2 amps the 1000/v2. It sounded great. He did not change his alternator or get an extra battery. All he did was do the big 3. Will mine be loud like that?

Scott at fi car audioi sent me this enclosure..

Is this a good enclosure? Is it going to be very loud and clear?

I live in the west bloomfield area.. By 14 mile and orchard lk rd. Now can you please tell me... Im getting my car in about a week its a 2010 nissan maxima.. Would i be good if i just do the big 3 with 0 gauge wire becuase the alternator is about 170 amps. Ohh and is the sae 1200d very loud.. Loud enough it will vibrate the cars around you and soumd good the same time..lol
Yes, you should be fine with the big 3, like i said earlier get a dmm or a stinger volt meter and watch your voltage....this will signify if you need another battery or not
I think thats what im going to do. Im going to have my system installed by cartunes. They will take care of it. If you dont mind can you send me pics of your system.. ur btl 18 and ur amp please

i am a powering 3 sa8s with it in a sealed enclosure- going ported in the near future
doesn't vibrate cars beside me around because i didn't design my build to do that
but it defiantly gets loud and after running at full blast for about 30 seconds on a 50hz tone voltage drops like crazy with engine on from 13.5 to 12.8
actually ordering a batter when i get my paycheck in this week
i think you will like it i sure have loved mine
love me some Nissans i drove a Maxima for my first car then to the vehicle i got now a frontier
i will be looking forward to seeing your build unfold
My man my friend has a 12 inch jl w7 and a 1000/v2 amp in a navigator and it is loud as hellll broo. it vibrates the cars around us and sets off car alarms. Were in the back of the school and people could hear us in the front. I cant even breath in nhis car. I wonder what my 1500 watts rms with sundown sae 1200d and the fi bl is going to do...

I have a sundown sae 1200d, which can handle 1500 at 1ohm..... I also have a 12 inch fi bl fully loaded. Would i have to get an extra battery or do the big 3. Will i be fine if i just do the big 3 upgrade? I have a zero gauge amp kit.

That amp is capable of producing the 1200 watts and then some as it is rated to do, but most of that depends on what your electrical will be. What do you mean do you have to adjust the amp to have a good loud sound, do you think you can just put the amp in the car and not touch any knobs and it works right away (im lost on that question). Yes you will have to tune the amp properly to get the most out of it.
Yeah the BL should be louder than the Q but that is all install dependent. Its a mix of getting loud while sounding good doing it. Bracing will help but it is up to you, it really depends on how well you build the box (if you want to be extra cautious then go for it).
How would you tune the amp. The sundown sae 1200d?
can the brace be metal or wood? Does it really matter?

Today im going to build my 1st box for the fully loaded fi bl 12in. Im going to be using 3/4in thick mdf fiber board. Would i have to use braces to hold the box, its just one 12in, and also i have a Sundown sae 1200d amp. Is it capable of producing 1500watts rms. What would you have to adjust the amp to to have a good, loud sound? I have a Stinger amp kit 0 gague, and extra 25 feet of 0 gauge wire for the big # upgrade, and i also have a kinetic battery the khc 1600.
Just recentley my friend got his system installed. He has the same equipment as i do, but he has the FI Q. Let me tell you, it is LOUD AS HELL, For just one 12inch... omg i could barely breath. To be honest it is wayy better than the 12inch jl w7.. Dont know why people waste there money on w7's.. So anyway isent the bl more (louder) than the Q?.. And is the bl a mix of both spl and sq? OHH and we both got our box dimensions from FI sales
