I am working on putting a pair of Rl-i 8s in the back of my car to. I keep changing my mind on ported or sealed. I could do 2 sealed with up to 2cu ft of air for both. I might get a 3rd just not sure if I will have enough power then. I have 800 watts to work with. I am putting it in a hatchback so I dont have a problem with getting the sound up front. If they are the same as the new ones I will do the trade. I have 2 but I want to run 3. I left a reply on CA for you too. If anyone know if the are close enough to the new 8 if not the same to run them together let me know please. I can get more pics if you want let me know.

I think you want to go with 2cu ft of air and port it at 20hz. You port lower for HT use. You dont have the cabin gain like you do in you car.

Email Mike he would be the best one to ask about that amount of power on the 8s. I am going to give 2 400 a each or if I go with 3 it will be 266 each. Latter PS: when you get them we need pics.

Hey I dont know if it will be louder but it sounds cool. I just ordered a pair of the 8s. I am try to see if I have enough room to port mine. If not I will order a 3rd one and run them seal. You know if 8s wont do it 10s will just an idea. Good luck

I was way of on my measurements. It can be 41Wx12Hx10D. This gives me a total od 2cu ft to work with. Is that enough space to port them at 32hz or not. Mj

Ok I have an area that is 32Wx11Hx10D this gives me 1.42 to work with for 2 8s. Can I port these subs and keep the area this small I would like to port them around 32hz if I could.. I dont care if I use round ports or sloted. I know I dont have room for the slot port. What should I do ? Thanks MJ

Can someone help me out. I am try to put the RL-i8 in to WinISD Pro. When I put in the specs it keeps giving me a fault . Can some one tell me what I am doing wrong please. MJ

Well I just orderd a Pair of DVC8s I love my RL-p12 but I need some room back in my car. MJ

I got my RL-p12 to day. Going to put it in this weekend. All I have to say right now is that is one heavy sub. I am going to put it in the same box my 12 SE is in 2feet @ 32hz and see how she sounds. I will build a new box in the future. I have a PG X600.1 to push it. Thats it for now I will tell every one how I like it and I will compare it to the SE12. Same amp same box so all will be equal. How does the SQ of the Rl-i 10 compare to the RL-p12. I know the 12 should go lower. But do the subs have the same sound. I like how my RL-p 12 sounds. I have been thinking about running 2 but with the space I have it would have to be sealed and was thinking about the 10s. the amp I have would be great for 2 10s but for 2 12 I would need more power in a sealed box. I dont think 800w to 2 12 would be enough ported yes but sealed I dont think so. If the 10s sound the same as the 12s I think its a good option. Then use the 12 for HT.I am not letting the 12 go I am keeping. Well thanks for your help Mike J

Every day I like the RL-p 12 more and more. I am going to try and see if I can fit a big enough box to try and put 2 in ported. This sub has to be the best bang for your buck. I am now a SS fan big time. If any one has a use 8 or 10 for sale let me know I just want to check one out. The 12 is staying in the car with a second 1 maybe. Dam they sound good MJ
