  1. Alright, well i saw a local add up, and look what i ended up getting!

    BTL N2 18"

Picked it up used for $380. Looked pretty good in shape, im not going to be picky because Fi subs are very few up where i live. The only real 'damage' that i saw was the surround was a little bit frayed, but not too much. Here's a picture of it.

Anyways! Im stoked. Somebody local has a Soundstream TDX2000D for sale so im pretty sure ill be picking that up to power this baby. All i need is my box design and i should be murdering my Impala. :morepower1:

  2. Ok so, Measured the full trunk space, Iv got 39" of clearance for my trunk opening at the largest spot. So if you could make it a bit smaller than that it would be nice.. Iv got 33" of depth and Still 19" of height is MAX. 18.5" would be nicer. The 33" of depth puts me a little past the edge of the 6x9 speaker cutouts. So the aero ports would have to be Very close to the back edge of the box. Sub facing towards the back of the trunk would be nice so i can see it whenever i want.

  3. Well, i didnt think this was going to end up happening but i actually saw an Fi BTL N2 18" For $400 in my city. I was previously going to get a 15" Fi Q or BL which was going to cost me $400 shipped anyways so i cant give up this opportunity. Now in the quest for less trunk rattle, i wanted to fire my subwoofers forward into the cabin, BUT i dont have foldable seats. OhJay gave me a good idea. Use external aeroports that go through the rear deck where the 6x9 speakers go. I thought it was a great idea, something a bit different. Now i was wondering if any of you could make it happen. Iv got probably 19 inches maximum of height, probably about 40 inches of width. I know the box will be a bit smaller than a regular or considering the aero ports so hopefully that helps out with it fitting.

  4. Ok, After trying out plugging the RCA's into different inputs, i found out that i THINK the RCA cables are worn, along with the amp itself. Kind of like a piston and its cylinder. Most of the speakers will cut in and out if connected with their correct inputs. But if i switch them around, rear cables to front input, and front cables to rear input. All the speakers work? So i guess its best off to say i need to buy some new cables and everything will be ok.

  5. I never said there was anything wrong with them at all. I personally like Alpine. And i did get a demo, but sadly iv never really heard any other systems. It definitely didnt sound like 154. But he told me his amps werent even turned up all the way? Idk sounded like an excuse to me. and Tire i understand what your saying and i dont think im any better than liking these not as well known brands, he was just very closed minded and ignorant.

Anyways, whether im right or wrong i just needed to rant for the sake of letting it out.

  6. Well, i was trying to talk to the 'new guy' at my local audio shop. And we started talking about what we had, and i was telling him i was trying to sell my Type X's to get a Fi Q. Supsrisingly he has actually heard of Fi, but he was very closed minded towards them. ANYWAYS, he ended up telling me he had four Type R's 12" in a ported box, in an Impala like mine! So, i went out to get a demo. Pretty loud i guess, but he was trying to tell me he has hit 154db. Considering that his box looked fairly small for 4 12's i doubted it. I guess im just rattled that people like that can get a job but when i apply i dont even get an interview. >.>

  7. I have recently purchased 2 Sets of Bravox CS50K components off the SSA Store. I noticed that it was taking a while to process and i got a call from Mark. He told me that there was only one set of components left and suggested that i get 2 sets of IA's because they had enough in stock. I decided to save some money and only end up getting 1 set of the Bravox's. (I got the last ones ;)). But anyways i thought this was great of them to do. Iv ran into many websites that will just cancel your order all together if something like this happens. Instead i ended up getting a friendly call.

Thanks Mark, and the SSA Store. :D

  8. Alright, so i own a PG Ti. 500.4 and my speakers will randomly seem to cut in and out. All of a sudden only 1 speaker in my car will be working, and at other times all 4 will work. Now i went back and checked my amp, it seems that the aux inputs are the problem. When i wiggle them around a bit, unplug them and plug them back in they all work. They will work for like a week and then start cutting out again. I actually ended up taking the cover off and looking at the solder points on the amp where the inputs are and they seem to be fine. Should i just like... tape the wires in place so that they dont move? Idk what else to do.

  9. Yea, The review would be great once you get to listen to them. Im pretty sure ill go with 2 pairs and im going to go with what Denim suggested in the chat, get some velcro and just mess around with tweeter placement until they sound perfect, and then mount them where ever it sounds best. :) Thanks guys

  10. Well then... No real experience with Door fabrication and fibreglass but maybe i should go with 4 components. 2 in each door. Tweeters up by the A-Pillar? Ill need to remove the rear speakers anyway, and since ill have 2 extra channels on my amp i guess i could try?

  11. Alrighty, Sadly it looks like my Infinity Reference 5.5" speakers are dying. (guess it more sounds like that...). Anyways, my one speaker sounds fine.. but the other one is starting to sound quieter and not nearly as sharp and i think its time to switch it up a bit. What i was looking at were the Bravox CX50CF coaxial speakers or the CX50K components..

My first main question i guess is from the SSA store do these come in pairs? or are the speakers priced individually.

Also iv heard good reviews from other Bravox speakers but i havent really found any reviews on these particular ones. Obviously im looking to stay in about the same SQ range as the Infinity's, i dont want to be buying something that doesnt even sound as good.

    Tell me what you think.

Almost forgot, im running a Phoenix Gold Ti. 500.4 to power my speakers.
