that was me. I have it in a 3.3 cuft box before displacement that was initially designed for my Fi Q so i think the box is a lil small.. but it sounds good and will get plenty loud if i ever want to turn up the gains.. thinking about putting some polyfill in to help with the small box..

Actually, I lied. The measurement I gave you is from the basket step to the terminal. Please see shot. You will notice the tapered spokes that extend to the edge. Depending on just how thick you have your spacer, you may have to increase the hole size to compensate. I figure if you go to 5 1/4" you should be ok if you use a 3/4" spacer.Best,
Mark
yup i will have a 3/4 MDF baffle there and i'll see what i can do tomorrow when i work on the door. if i can get it to 5-6" i'll probably pick up a set.

Ok, I see what you're doing now. You are looking at 5" between the edge of the magnet to the edge of the terminal strip on the opposite side.Best,
Mark
gotcha im gonna work on the doors tomorrow see if i can cut/or bend some metal to get it to fit!
thanks for the help!

The MLI-65 has a mounting diameter of 6", so it won't work for you.And everything you heard about them is true...
Best,
Mark
really?! are you sure?
im talkin about something like this
the magnet + terminals is 4"
so you're talking about magnet diameter rather than actual cutout diameter?
yes magnet diameter + terminal.

I only have a 4" hole in my door and i need to find a set of mids that will clear.
Does anyone know how big the diameter of the magnet+ terminal is? My rainbow mid was exactly 4" and it barely cleared and my AA poly mids didnt clear at all.
Heard good things about them and want to give them a try.

Tune your PR higheri believe a 1cuft box with PR and no weights is just around 30hz. if you wanted to tune higher you would need a 2nd. I had a US Amps MD2D on my TC10OEM and it loved it.. $300 is your budget? I would be willing to sell my MD2 for $300 + shipping.

I had one in a .6 cuft with a PR and no weights cause kyle said it would be roughly around 30hz. Sounded awesome and the PR really helps with the low end extention.
I have a PR im selling BTW if you dont already have one.

It just fried and I wanna know where and how much it would cost to get it repaired. I just PM'd flakko about it and I hope theres a warranty that comes with it. but if not im going to have to cough up the cash and get it fixed.

Anyone know how much it would cost. I just emailed shawn@ficaraudio.com about it. I'm so frustrated with this sub!
I bought it from someone and it was making a wierd noise when he pushed on it and he put glue on it and it went away. But when we hooked it up it made a wierd noise when it played. He told me to put some glue on the spider in the center where it connects to the cone and I did that but it still didnt fix the problem. So I turned my gains on my MD2 down to where the sub played fine without it making the noise which was pretty much all the way down and used it from there. On the way to work today it stopped playing so I thought maybe the sub froze because it was some other problem so I kept driving and a minute later i smelt the smell of fried electronics. I pulled over and opened my trunk and there was smoke coming out of the amp. =[
