one box like that, a different box like this
this port is angled inside the box. it starts huge and tapers down. i don't know what sub is going in it either. i'll find out hopefully. Still awaiting a reply from him

carpeting isn't super hard. But i agree, they do make it all look super easy. I wonder how many boxes those two have made before showing us the video.

if he calls me back i will. i told him it'd be $200 for 2 boxes. he's yet to get back to me. its been 24 hours hahaha...

thanks Duran. that helped a lot.
this guy did all the calculations and everything himself he said. i just have to cut the pieces and put them together. i'm just going to do as told this one. I'll post up some pictures once its done. I'm just waiting on him to get some money together before i build it for him

well, some guy with a blazer wants me to build one for him. i do simple installs on weekends for some extra spending money. usually just for friends and such but this guy emailed me and wants me to build him this box and another one along with sound deaden his whole Blazer and other stuff.
I have no idea what the box will sound like or what it will accomplish. I'd just be interested in why someone would want it done to be honest.

I have never seen this box design before. Anyone care to explain what this does?

see i like the malibu a lot. but the chevy cruze eco gets 42 on the highway, is larger than the cavalier 2 door i drove (i fit no problem and i'm 6'3") and it has a 6 speed for the "fun" factor as i like to call it. i like sound systems but i'm not necessarily looking for the ground pounder. i'd still throw some large 12 in the trunk ported along with some components up front (maybe Oxygen mids and such if ramrod talks me into it).
i'll post up later on what i end up getting. i've been getting a lot more hours with work lately and a pay raise with both jobs. now making $8 even during the week (getting about 20-30 hours weekly) and then $9.50 weekends getting 25 hours. along with going to school, my free time goes to sleep lately haha.
of course, that money also goes to paying for current gas prices, living expenses, and repairs ( i just had to get some electrical work done, my rear wiper motor was toast and i couldn't get the replacement to work so i gave in and paid the mechanic).
thanks for all your help and such guys

Also here is a picture of RAAM Mat that you called the best bang for its buck back in the day Don.
Just picture to show you how good Raam Mats adhesive is attached to there aluminum. There is lots of air pockets between the adhesive and the aluminum. I wouldn't trust this stuff in my car. I just tried to do the same to Second Skin, Audio Wrap, and the Audio Technix proto type deadener I have (which does not use as good of an adhesive as the real product will have) and couldn't manage to do it.
Thats actually really eye opening to me. i used Raam Mat in my truck and didn't think anything bad of it. The only thing i had to compare it to was my brother's Dynamat Extreme which was really easy to use because of it being in sheets. I'll do some more research for my next car.
On top of all the Raam Mat, i have Second Skin MLV and Ensolite which is really nice equipment.
Bad Monte, thanks for starting the thread, i just had my eyes opened a little more

well, after more thought, amount of money i'm willing to part with a month (i'm 20, a full time student and working 2 part time jobs). I'm now looking at getting the ford focus or chevy cruze. 40 & 42 mpg highway, manual transmission, all power options, and a nice looking car. all for about 18 grand before incentives.
i keep forgetting to look at this thread i made. I'm really leaning towards the cruze because i know i'll get more money off the price than the focu (gm discount, family friend is the saleman, and standing offer of 3500 on my blazer)
basically, i want to go back to a car with trunk so i can get mpg seeing as how i drive to MSU every other weekend to see my girlfriend, drive about 20 miles daily to work every weekend, and the security aspect of having amps and subs hidden in the trunk.

that sucks to hear about your car and such man. hopefully the shop who built your box wrong the first time isn't charging you to build it again. looks like you had a lot of fun though

those are just the bulbs. I've done installs with those style bulbs and ballast mounting before with very little issues. they look great when done.
