  1. This is a great car. I am the third owner of this car. It has 160k miles on it. Full working A/C and is automatic. The reason I am selling this car is am going on a mormon mission and won't be back for two years.

I'm looking to get 5k or best offer.

So onto the car. This car is 1997 honda accord midnight purple special edition. Here is a HUGE list of the features and upgrades to this car.

    Viper alarm system

Blue LED (Part of alarm system)

Viper LED (Part of alarm system)

2.25 magnaflow muffler from the front to back

Extra bright headlights (HID 8k lights)

2 18 inch SSA subwoofers (handles 4000 watts RMS) Please note that this car does NOT have a backseat because the subwoofer box takes up the whole backseat!

Aftermarket front speakers (Infinity Cappa's 6.5)

    Stinger Voltage meter in car

Upgrade headunit (aftermarket radio, with USB and AUX cord connections. Also plays CD's and radio perfectly)

    New brakes

    New fluids

    New headers

    Intake (blue)

    New calibers (blue)

    New radiator

    New gas tank

    Sundown Audio amp (4500.1D)

    Extra battery (HC1800)

    270amp alternator (DC power)

Less then a year old tires

Sound deadened floor (All of the carpet has been taken out and has been sound deadened to the floor so you will not hear road noise)

Yellow top battery (under the hood)

    Tinted windows all around

    Upgraded corner lights

Upgraded license plate light (bright white)

I know that most people don't post the "bad things" about the car but i will go ahead because i feel it's needed

The top of the car is starting to experience a little bit of ware. I noticed this after taking it through the machine washes. I HIGHLY recommend you hand wash this car to discontinue the ware to the pain on top of the car.

There is also a small but noticeable dent to the front driver door. It was a parking lot hit and run but luckily not much paint was removed and is actually not as bad as it could have been.

Honestly, this is my first car and i have done nothing but keep this car in pristine condition. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me anytime.

Text or call anytime. I do work but feel free to honestly contact me anytime.

  2. Hey guys, just to give you a low down on what i have. I have the 2 18 inch SSA prototypes 4,000 RMS being pushed with 1 (for now, soon to have two) AQX3500.1 in a 1997 honda accord SE, and a DC 270 XP alternator.

Now, i live in Arizona which i know a lot of other people do who are on SSA forum. My amp is located in the trunk along with the battery. My box sits in the backseat. I am having HUGE cooling problems with the amp because no AC can get to the trunk and the trunk is forced to deal with full exposure unlike most SUV's. The fan helps but i still can't quite seem to get it out of protect and if it does, it takes 5 minutes with the trunk open and the fan running. Not to mention when i start driving again and "pounding" the amp just runs back into protect because it's being overheated.

What are some ideas? I talked to some people and they suggested building a custom box for the amps, one to pull in air and one to pull it out. I feel like i still would have problems seeing as the fan isn't doing anything as it sits now.

    What do you think?

  3. I sent my SSA prototype 18 inch 4000 RMS in to get reconed after it caught on fire due to a malfunction in the sub.

I sent this in 1 1/2 + months ago and can't seem to get into contact with Mark or the build shop.

I know SSA is behind on orders and etc. but it would nice to get some contact at the very least.

  4. No problem bro. Glad to see the attitude change. You're a good guy, you just gotta think more 'future' than 'here and now'. I know I was very similar at 18, and often still am. Thats why the wifey has veto power on many budget decisions.

I'm sure we will see one another at a meet when I get back in AZ.

    J

Haha, definitely didn't think about the future when i bought the alt, definitely not.

Did you go to TRP's meet?

Sorry OP for semi jacking your thread... :peepwall:

  5. I admire your willingness to admit when you're wrong.. How old are you Dark? (no I'm not hitting on you, just curious)... :peepwall:

Haha. I am 18. I already get the stereotype for being so young, so it's not help to contribute.

Plus, i don't think or know everything haha. No reason to act like it!

And stop hitting on me! Haha just kidding :drink40:

  6. Bro lemme put it like this.

You and I get a speeding tickets, both for 78 in a 65. You aregued and bitched to the cop cause u were running late and treated him like shit. I was polite and just waited, knowing full well what a PITA this was going to be.

We both fight the ticket. The judge gets a deposition on both of ours. Yours says you acted like a pucking child and never even owned up to speeding, nor did you apologize. Mine says I admitted I was not following my speed, and I am sorry for allowing myself to speed. Now which ticket do you think the judge is more likely to allow to be reduced? probably not yours.

Same concept man. Sometimes people get a fucked up deal and get really taken care of. Above and beyond anything they could of expected or even asked for. Other times people get fucked WAY worse, and they are lucky to get an apology. Its life man. Learn to deal with it now, or expect a VERY dissapointing adulthood.

    J

Yeah, i understand that and that makes total sense. But lets but this in real context.

Yes, i am the second hand owner of this 270xp which was promised by kyle that kyle would still give warrenty to whoever bought it from the first hand owner. Me and the first hand owner had a long talk about this.

Anyways, i finally get this awesome alternator, put it in my car and things are great. My volts are sitting high and i am loving it.

The alternator snaps, which isn't my fault. This also makes it hard to go to work when you don't have an alternator. So i call and leave a voicemail to kyle. No response that day. Call again and leave another voicemail. No response again. Call the day after that, finally talk to kyle. He talks to me about helping me out and is awesome. Plus i am not "acting like a child" because there was not reason to. He tells me to call a month later to get a RMA number because they need to fix the casting.

I call again when the month is exactly up, again no answer. Voicemail. Then i call everyone at DC power, no one answers. Then i call the "general" desk and get this guy named Steve. Now in talking to Steve things are good and i explained i already talked to kyle and that he said he would take care of me and all i needed was an RMA number. Well Steve asks for more information about my car. I told him i was a second hand owner.

That's when he shut me down and told me that i shouldn't even be calling. That the warrenty is void and wouldn't listen to me after that. So i got upset and raised my voice. Trying to explain to this guy Steve that i just need an RMA number and that kyle said i would be good. So at this point i am upset, trying to get to work, and screwed.

So then the next day or so, i "Called out" DC power for "lying" to people or telling people when things were going to be done when they actually weren't. Such was the case with the guy who waited 2 years for a specialized bracket and alternators. Anyways, i am not saying it was the right thing to do but i did it.

Then after that, rob tells me that he won't fix my alternator and that after i had already sent it to him, he was going to send it back to me, broken. So then i called the original owner and the ONLY REASON DC power fixed my alternator is because the Orginal owner told him that i would just send it to him and he would send it back to DC power and go the long way.

So honestly, you can tell me that i was acting like a child. That's okay that you think that. And honestly everyone can think that. But when you are trying to get to work everyday to pay bills and make ends meet, swapping family cars, tell me how you wouldn't be frustrated. I know that you won't understand but honestly.

You don't know both sides of the story, not even a full one side of the story. So please stop acting like I am conducting myself like a child, and please stop trying to put me down and say i am wrong. You can if you want, but at least here i am asking you to stop.

Oh well. I was just upset because of DC power not answering or returning phone calls, giving me a product that isn't supposed to break but ends up snapping, and having to wait for so long. I am happy with the alternator but not with the customer service. That's all.

  7. Okay. That makes sense. Rob made it sound like he made one special for you then sold it.

Also another solid point. They do handle each situation differently. But why can't they do what they did for yours? Seeing as some people have had worse experience? I wasn't bad mouthing them. I was exploiting what they said really. Any I didn't through a fit. If you knew both sides of the story you would understand. But that's okay.

Yeah sorry I took it the wrong way. I was in a rush. I apologize.

  8. Point is... bumps in the road will occur and that's what it is... Obviously Darktin is sore about his issues but they will get resolved... Hopefully soon rather than later... But to come into another thread and try to bash someone's feeling on THEIR situation is not called for. Either way, I hope all these issues get resolved in timely manner as I would like to purchase with confidence when I do. :eek5wavey:

I was honestly just wondering. I wasn't even trying to be rude. I am not sore about it and like phi said, my issue is resolved. Im not trying to bash anyone, I even said that. Also, I was just asking. I just felt like there is a lot of people that had the same problem as the OP and they don't get free alts. Some of them waited longer. however, I am not asking for one or complaining. Just wondering. my situation wasnt as bad as most peoples.

  9. Lol no answers to any of my questions. So today i finished the following:Double baffleA "new" way to bend the 90Fiberglassing the inside of my portHopefully i can finish this by this saturday so i can show you what it can do.Currently it has 14 cubes (with bracing and port) and tuned at a nice low 32 :)
Stay up all night if you have to :D

Haha, i wish it were that easy. I am using my girlfriends dad's shop. So with work and school (7:30am to 2:30 pm for school then 3:30 to 10 every night) it's hard to make time. Plus he wants to be in his shop when i am in there, which is kind of hard with my crazy schedule

I am hoping you can make it also man!!! Would love to see you break into the 50's!!

Me too man... I would love to see that too. I want my car as loud as big will's lol! But yeah we will see... Just waiting on an amp... :peepwall:

  10. @edouble101

    I'm not trying to be too rude with this question but;

How come in a lot of threads in DC power you talk about how bad your service was with them and how you got a refund for your alternator. But now Rob sent you a free alternator and it's okay now. Also, why did you get a free alternator? I just don't understand the logic in all of it. :puzzled:

Just because you receive a free product from a company doesn't make their customer service any better...

..... I still have an alternator sitting here for you... Kyle and I were debating, I told him I wanted to PM you and tell you I was going to still send you the alternator, he said to just send it. It's my company though and I dont like sending $600 packages to people without them knowing... Anyways, how bout I send you the XP I have built tomorrow, touch it, feel it, put it in. If you want to keep it, I'll make you a killer deal on it. If your not interested, no worries, I at least had to offer it to you. I have no hard feelings towards you, and hopefully you harbor none towards me. Im sorry I got into it with you. I've been working 18hr days for the last 8 days straight, and I am not exactly not high strung right now. Like I said the other day, I should know better when to walk away from a heated discussion, or something that could escalate to that.

Anyways, I had to at least extend the olive branch, if not only for doing what's good business practice, I had to do it for my own personal peace of mind. I hope you understand..

    Rob

Robbie offered his product to me at no up front cost. He knows his product is the best in it's class and had no doubts that I would see the same. He also knows that I will pay him for his product. What the cost is that I pay Robbie for the alternator is between himself and me.

It is obvious to everybody else why my situation was handled the way it was. Hell that's why I made this thread to begin with. So please tell me WHAT YOU do not understand :puzzled: I hope this is not another superfluous post by you but it sure does look as though.

Well that's weird. Because in another topic i read that he sold that alternator right after you wanted a refund. He told you that too. Sorry i can't pull the quote up.

There has been a lot of situations that were not handled well, so i don't understand why your more special then all of the other DC power customers who had a horrible time working with DC power.

I don't appriciate you trying to call me names. You can, as it is your choice. I haven't bashed you at all, and i don't plan to. I hope you feel better putting me down. I just don't understand your train of thought (or rob's), which i am trying to understand.

  13. I met Mark [Owner of SSA] at a local meet (Scottsdale pavilions) with his 2 SSA 18 inch prototypes (which i now own ;) )

Then unrelated i met Clay Markham at the pavilions the month after who is also a local dealer.

I joined somewhere in between the two meetings.

Great form, easy to use format, great people. What else do you need?

  14. Also, just wondering. If you listen to rap and rock and you want the kicks and stuff to be clean. Why are you tuning so low? I normally hear people who listen to slowed and low music tune to 28 and people who want to have a good sounding box for rock and rap go around 34-36.

  15. Okay, so from looking at your builds (That are looking pretty legit) the port needs to be build to a side of the wall?
No, there are no rules that say that. It is regularly the easiest to do that though as you can imagine just by thinking about the build.Definitely making this hard. Generically you only need to worry about the length and not shape. Turn it as you have to, but when you do the only shape consideration is to minimize the restriction to air movement and you are golden.

Oh okay cool. Try to make the bend as smooth as possible is what your saying correct?

X2It's easier to build it off to the side. The only reason I have shown these "L" shaped ports isbecause I generally tune on the low side with large port area.Typically the larger the port area and the lower the tuning, the port will need to be fairly long.

Yeah that's where i am at now. I'm checking it out and i am going to be tuned at a nice and low 32. That means i have to have a 38 inch long port with a 8.5 tall and a width of 30 long. Should be good. Another question that came up. With working with the curve and trying to see how many inches the port is how do you do that?

I ask because i was drawing out my port and stuff and i can see that the bottom curve is long but then the top one is just a bit shorter then the bottom on the curve part. This doesn't effect anything correct?
