I wish you posted this yesterday. This guy had two pioneer radios. I got the deh-p610bt for 80 bucks brand new. He sold the other today the deh-p710bt (same one Steve meade has)
If Meade uses it, it must suck donkey dick....
Fixored
I don't nut hug, I don't believe just because so and so uses it therefore it must be good, but some of the products he uses are good
Exactly!! And I personally haven't found any issues with pioneer head units!! Now if Steve Meade used JENSEN Headunits, we'd have a problem!!

The 710 only uses more eq's!! Which is better!!!

Not yet!! Been pretty busy. I have to find a bass spot. I need a better amp also, but it's pretty darn loud now.

You can do about 4cuft in the trunk ported!! My advice to you is not to make the box so tall.
damm those 1st gens? yea im thinking something like that im starting the build this weekend supposed to be nice out 50-60s lol.
Bro I'm from the south, that's borderline freezing for me lol... It's mid 70s low 80s here in Houston. With a light wind. This is nice lol.
But yeah these SSA icons first gens!!

I have two Ssa icon 15s in my grand prix bro!! In 3.2cuft each box!! I need too upgrade my shocks though!! It's a lot of extra weight!! I can get you some dimensions. How many cbft does it need?
well fi recommends 3-5 cubs i want at least 3.5 cubes just for a lil wiggle room for displacement and bracing and stuff. that would be great bro! whats the biggest box do you think i could fit through the trunk? what year is yours?
I have the 2002 40th anniversary one.
And I'm not sure how big of an single box you could fit, because mines are in different boxes as shown. It would be pretty difficult. But a rough estimate I'd do 3.5 ported because I know how tough it would be to stuff it in their. I wouldn't go bigger than that unless you build in trunk.

So I was looking, and saw that Steve Meade has the pioneer deh-p710bt a step up from the one I have the deh-p610

Yeah question, kinda too broad. Need to know if you want to get loud, or your going for quality. Quality-JL: loud-sad!! But I wouldn't sleep on the JL, because it can get pretty loud also, and on the other hand, the ssd can sound pretty good in a sealed box like said above. I'd personally get the FI

Those bravox speakers are really nice also!!

I have my Icons crossed at 50 hz at a 12 db slope, and my mids play from 63 hz and up with an 18 db slope. It works well for me.
Not everyone has the mids you have.
But yea, 63/80 should work fine.
What mids do you have bro? And I'll try it, once I do a new enclosure. Ported 3.0 cuft at 32hz

Look into an fosgate 8" driver!! Not familiar with many other 8' woofers to satisfy what you are intending to do.

I used to have a 12 2nd gen btl and I gotta say that these icons sound better and get louder. But of course it was just 1 btl.
