I'm in the same boat as Drama here. I don't wanna amp comps. But Id rather have a set of comps than coax. With my HU putting out around 22watts rms 55 peak. Not a lot for a bad ass set of comps. But for a decent set i don't see the problem with not having an amp. Id love to have a relatively decent answer to this question of opinion on comps on HU power. Because i do would love to buy a set of comps. And maybe one day grow the balls to amp my speakers. But i def don't want to right now.

So one of my friends is selling his CR-X to one of our buddies. But he keeps bein a prick bout it. So he's gonna sell me his Rex. She's nothin special. its a 1990 Si. Which i'm excited about. But the body is rusted to piss. And she'll need quite a lot of work even to just become road worthy. But she runs. Since i'm wanting to upgrade my truck soon. This will probably be where the Q and aq1200 go to. Maybe something a lil more efficient. Not sure yet. Lemme know what you guys think!! any good places for rex parts or any info really would be great! Thanks!

What I said was if you electrical and wiring will healthily support 100w then I don't care if its from a 100w amp or a 10,000w amp (assuming similar topologies & efficienies) as either will be fine playing that 100w. *yes you can replace the 100w with whatever number you like Makes total sense to me. So i want to upgrade. But not immediately. like. May not upgrade for a whiiile. But have chance to get a bigger amp. so total hypothetical. I currently have an AQ1200 in my truck with full 4 gauge wires off stock alt and batt. could I, run an 2k amp off of this set up. Never goin over like, probably quarter gain to half. (prollly long time before that amp would clip) 2k amp being a db drive okur 2k. I know anything above 1.5k comes with 1/0 inputs. But could i run it off of the 4 gauge til i can upgrade the rest of the set up is my basic question. Any of your guys' vast knowledge would be great!! thanks in advance!

What M5 was sayin is what i was thinking. Like. If it was set up correctly. I could run the 2k off of 4 gauge wire. But then upgrade and take it up a notch. But. Entire electrical is gonna get upgraded eventually. Lookin into a deka batt to put in my truck soon-ish. Then i'll end up upgrading to 1/0 at the same time. and maybe upgrading to a decent 1500watt amp. whole system is gettin revamped eventually. lol. Thanks for all the input guys!

So after finally getting the money together I'm beginning the build on my 1994 Ranger. My Wires came in yesterday. And my amp and sub stuff should be coming in tomorrow. Without further a due. So i was tinkering in my garage. Preppin my Dirt Scooter's engine for when my crank shaft gets ready. And i decided I'd paint one of my black FI Vinyls. This is how it turned out. What you guys think? Had Hemi Orange sittin around for my Charger's engine block. So i went ahead and threw it down. Took nearly 4 coats to cover the black with this color. But i think it turned out alright.

Did my best to set my EQ and XOver's today. Started out on AC/DC. made that sound good. Then moved over to Michael Jackson. This is It. Orchestra version. That song is beautiful on a great system. And it sounds pretty damned good in my truck if i do say so myself. lol. make fun all you want. But I love the music Michael Jackson produced. No matter what he was as a person. Then I added my sub tonight. Set my gain. Played around goin through my entire ipod on my HU to see what sounded good. Everything did at Full Tilt. lmfao. after like 45 minutes of playin around. I set it on Bass Mekanik LowD SlowD and let it go through a few songs for about 15~25 minutes. Now i'm here. lol. I'll still be tuning for a while on the EQ. But the Sub is done. :woot: P.S. My Logo was flying around. So i pealed it off. lol. No more Logo.

My only complaint. Is that my FI Logo keeps peeling up. :suicide-santa: Wtf guys?!

Up upup UpDatess!! So as you guys know i finally got my recone ordered and it was supposed to get here yesterday. So i got started with the Recone. Not to keep you guys in suspense with lots o talkin. Since pics say a thousand words as they say. On With teh Pics!!!! Just a couple shots of its former glory...ish. Now for the Tear down. Now i'm sure you guys are wondering what the coil looks like after beat the piss out of it with coil rock. And honestly. It didn't do shit to the motor. And there's a tiny scuff on the coil. Idk.
