    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Hustling big time! I got almost all the ceiling stripped, just the hallway left, mudded and sanded stripped ceilings and all walls got the ceiling in the living room and dining room primed and all walls in the living room painted and trimmed out. I will install the new floor grates, switch plates and outlet plates (holy shit I spent a lot on that shit!) finish the ceiling paint in the living and dining rooms, and prime out the kitchen ceiling tomorrow, just in time for furniture delivery Thursday at lunch. I can deal with the crown moulding a bit later. It will be easy, unlike paint, mud, sanding, etc. to do while the furniture is in place. I will finish the kitchen ceiling and walls this weekend. I am contemplating ordering new cabinets this weekend too. I have ordered a black walnut butcher block top (1.75" thick) for my bar (it sets between the kitchen area and living room, open concept), which I generally use for food prep. Should be here within the next few weeks. If I do cabinets I will have to get granite cut for the sink side of the kitchen, so I may wait on the cabinets for the time being.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I rode in the loaded Outback. I just don't care for bells and whistles. Sure, there is a lot of cool shit, but am I going to die if I don't get it loaded? I fix broke cars for a living. If people really knew how fucking much shit was when it broke they would likely be looking for a horse and buggy. I had a Lexus in a few months ago... push button start failure. It needed the remote module. $1400 our cost! Sorry, I'll turn a fucking key for that money. Subaru simplicity is good for me. I don't want, or need, anything fancy or special at all... except for heated seats... I do have to have a warm ass. Too many goodies scare me. I want to get from point A to point B. I don't fuckin care how I look or how fancy my car is that gets me there. AWD is a requirement where I live. FWD and RWD will not get out. I have both. Bear in mind, I grew up and learned to drive in Buffalo snow. It isn't an inability to drive in the snow... it is an inability to get out of my fucking driveway.

Love La-Z-Boy. I bought some Berkline about 10 years ago, and it has served us well. Prior to that we used La-Z-Boy, which was all my grandparents ever used. I bought some powered reclining "loveseats" with powered middle consoles. Loveseat being a misnomer as it is just 5 inches shorter than my couch. Wish you did live closer. I would accept the help.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Well, got a call from the lady at La-Z-Boy... apparently my furniture is ready for delivery. Awesome. 3 weeks early! What I needed to do before delivery: Replace ceiling fan - Done Strip popcorn ceiling from: living room - done dining room - nope Kitchen - nope Hallway - nope Mud all ceilings - nope Paint livingroom ceiling - patially kitchen, diningroom, and hallway ceilings - nope Paint livingroom accent wall - done paint livingroom/dining room/kitchen/hallway walls - partially. Get crown moulding up in all rooms... nope. Fuck I have been to goddamn busy lately! Well, I got to it today and managed to strip all the ceilings. I changed my tooling and it went faster. Now I have to work during the week, which was not in the plans. I work too fucking long and too fucking hard to come home to do manual labor. Tomorrow I will mud the ceilings and remaining walls. Tuesday I will sand and start painting. I have till friday to get it all done. Ugh! I'll do the crown later. It will all be cut outside, so no mess on the new interior to worry about.

My buddy steered me to the 2.0, which is where I am going. He told me he is seeing issues with the timing covers leaking. They went to a chain setup, apparently. No big deal, a few hours, silicone, and a crank seal. So really just a few $ out of my pocket ;). The dealership will, I assure you, never lay a finger on my car... remember my career path He bitched that I should grab an older car, but I don't want to deal with head gaskets. I HATE doing that job. After leaving Subaru he opened his own shop at his house. All he works on are Subarus. Overfilling a boxer is a HUGE no-no! a V is not so bad, but oil resting in the cylinders can be a big problem. Not racing it . I drive like an old man. I have for years. Big loud Grand Nationals attract a ton of attention, so to keep cops from bugging me I learned to drive old. I looked at the BRZ, but how does someone fit in that thing? I don't dig the whole ricer look, so it didn't do much for me. Interestingly, I don't have to fix a lot of Subarus. We do a lot of maintenance on them, as they do seem to require more frequent maintenance. I don't mind spending $150 on fluids and plugs every 30,000 miles or so, though, so I'm not gonna sweat it. As far a broken Subarus... aside from axles binding ($50 for new axles) and wheel bearings (~$75) we really don't fix them.

One of my best friends is "The" local Subaru tech. He worked for the only local Sooby dealership for ~20 years. He has 4 Bug Eye WRX in various levels of performance, from outrageous to bone stock. He also happens to be the best driver I know... and I know some damn good drivers. Fun cars for sure! I want a smaller car, so I think I am going to grab an Impreza Sport Limited. It handles very well, maybe a bit twitchy, but it's not really quick. I'm OK with that. I figure if I really like it after a few years I may grab a WRX as since selling my Grand National I am admittedly missing a car with some ass. I drove a Crosstrek, and an Outback as well. I was not impressed with the Outback, as the bigger size felt rather spongy and lumbering to me, so the bigger Forester was easy to eliminate. The Crosstrek was odd to me. It seemed to have the same front and rear legroom, same width, same square footage as the Impreza but it was taller, adding cubic footage. They offered a lot more options, but it felt topheavy and not as much fun to drive as the Impreza. Ultimately the goal is to simplify inclement weather driving. I am way out in the country, and we rarely see plows or salt trucks for big snows. I am tired of struggling to get out and into town when the weather strikes. I hate trucks/SUVs too. I generally drive my pickup to work (a 2wd 94 Nissan pickup I bought brand new), but it is more like a car than a truck, and miserable in the snow. I talked with them last night, and without push button start and "eyesight" (My request, I don't want either) but otherwise loaded they will give it to me for $23,600 with 0% apr with no trade in. Insurance is cheap too at ~$50 a month.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

OK folks... I Need a bumper sticker. I am, sadly, buying a new Subaru. I'm tired of struggling to get out here in the boonies when we get ice, and Subarus really kick ass in the weather. If you can find a bumper sticker that simply says "I am a lesbian", please let me know. Only 2 kinds of people buy a Subaru, lesbians and liberals, and I don't want to be mistaken for a liberal...

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Thanks, Neal, but this isn't my first chainsaw. I have a 50 year old Stihl, that was my grandfather's saw, as well as a couple throw away Poulans that are cheap, light, plastic pieces that I can climb trees with. I was taught maintenance on that Stihl a long time ago. My grandfather heated a huge house with firewood, and I spent all summer long for many years helping him fell trees, cut them up, split them, and stack them. We ran through 20 cord or better every year. But she is getting tired, so I wanted to get her rebuilt and grab one I can use all the time. Maybe time for a family photo!

Bought the MS 251CB-E today. It is the "Easy-2-start" version of the Woodboss. I opted for the Easy-2-Start and was forced into the quick chain adjuster. I really didn't care much about either option, but I was not terribly put off by the E2S. It pulls easy as hell. But in order for me to get a fuel primer bulb, which I insist upon, I had to go this route. I also got their most aggressive chain for this model. I grabbed some bar oil to go with it (already have Stihl Premixed fuel, as well as 2 stroke oil, sharpeners, and protection, so I didn't really need anything else), and walked out the door for just a shade over $430. It started fairly easy, so no complaints there. I swapped the chain out, so I got to see how the quick adjust worked. It is a slick ass set-up and worked beautifully. I like the option of a toolless adjustment. I had to fix the girl's car so I didn't get to cut anything. I'll report more when I do. But here you go Sean...

I've done a bunch of deep sea fishing on both coasts. For singles going out you will not generally find good charters. Most will be drop shelf fishing, which is OK but not great. Group charters are generally much more fun. We would do 3 days in Mexico and catch yellowfin, barracuda, sculpin, and sheephead. We get 6 man boats out here (NC coast, right off Hatteras) for the day and get dolphin (mahi-mahi not bottleheads), wahoo, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and an occasional bluefin if you get real lucky. We fish the gulf stream, which is the water you should fish down there. I would assume at this time of year that you should see similar fishing.

Yep. Many, many years ago I worked in an Italian/Pizza restaurant that was known for their pizza. I was in NY, so it isn't like bullshit pizza you find all over the rest of the country, it was real and good. We usually prepped for football games mid week, making and freezing dough We broke them into pie sized lumps and put them in plastic bags. For the Super Bowl we prepped 2 weeks out. We had to make over 250 pies.

Sprinkle cornmeal on the stone and on the surface you stretch the dough on. It eliminates the crust sticking to the stone.

I went to one about 3 weeks ago. Prices were absurd. They had my .40 Shield there for $475... I paid $349 just a few months ago, and bought my lady a 9mm for $329 right before Christmas. I bought nothing, and overspent on parking ($5) and entry fees ($11).

The description is stained poplar, but I would say it is very close to an ebony finish. Maybe closer to a rosewood?
