    Arsenal 10"s failing??

Are these the new versions of the Arsenal or the older versions with the blank dustcaps? We have yet to hear of any failures from any of our dealers or distributors for the new Arsenals that we produce. As mentioned above, suspension failures in ported boxes are often caused by improper subsonic filtering... please remember that the port acts as a giant hole in the box below tuning allowing the sub to unload. Thanks, Scott

FI BTL 12 (NOT HITTING RIGHT)

Please post pics of the enclosure with the specs. We definitely want to get this sorted and working properly for you. Thanks, Scott

    22inch Fi

Like Nick said above... I hate months of hype on products or putting a date on something. As with 99% of things Fi... it will simply appear on the site when we are ready to build/ship. With that said, I need to go to another forum and explain a product delay for a release date Thanks, Scott

what kinda motor is this and where can i get a recone???

Looks like a TC9 variant. Maybe off of Memphis or something. Shouldnt be an issue to recone... and the above BKOLFO4 will be the one to let you know all that info shortly Thanks, Scott

    I am loosing my sanity

Let me know where it says 2-3 days so I can change that one Front page on the site is 3-7 business days. With the amount of sales we do a day, there simply is no way to knock things out in 2-3 anymore. We have to batch run things in the machine shop in 2 day intervals even with the 2 CNCs fixtured for the same parts. Its probably about time to make a big front page ordering info section to clarify the time frames and UPS shipping. Glad its on the road to you Let us all know how it works when you get it installed. Thanks, Scott

2x Q15" Can they handle the power???

Qs wont like that much power for bass race. Frankie Rios is using Qs in his setup, but he doesnt quite have that much power per sub. He has more than proven that they are solid drivers for the application. But they do have limits. He was louder with his BTLs though...

    which is right??????

SSD with flatwind is similar in most respects to an SX. Although the SSD has more suspension to it. Q is a solid step up in the SQ department and from tests, in output as well over the SX.

    fi phone number (urgent!)

lol... everyone has problems with ALL shippers. Trust me with that one. UPS has been better than most we have used. Odd thing in that we had 2 claims in one week when it has literally been months without a claim. Waiting for the 20th for the trace to conclude and we will get another out ASAP.

    Can Fi recone an apx?

    Wheres my dimensions?

RE SE 15 (pair) Recone price?

SE15 Kits are $70 for original parts. We can upgrade to a flatwind and a beefed up suspension as well on some SE models.
  11. Hmmm... not seeing anyone asking in recones about a XXX in a while. Yes, we can recone them. What size and what basket?

    BP Power for Q's!

Who knows. I figured it was time to mix it up and so we swapped it from the BL to the Q for the cooling discount. So far machinist has stock pile about 40' worth of the BP plugs. But that wont last long and I have more aluminum bar on order.
  13. Fi Car Audio

    New BTL and BL's ?

From prelim testing the BL and BTL will both support the 22" moving mass. Neither the Q nor SSD will. There will be an IB 22" as well, but it remains to be seen what platform it will be on. Most likely the Q motor, and not the standard IB3.
  14. Fi Car Audio

i got 2 Qs and both need a lil work

One of two things can be done... we can send you the parts to try and repair them, or they can be sent in for us to do. Provided everything else is OK with the subs and we can replace the lead and cap on one and the cap on the other, you are looking at about $25 plus return shipping for them.

Old Havoc Vs. New Havoc differences?

Definitely an old Havoc. One of two speakers that I didnt design or OEM for Chad when he owned Ascendant. Chads original goals were his take on a tough daily driving sub. Up until that point his focus was more home audio oriented... until the car audio crowd steered things in a different direction. A solid sub, but not what I wanted for the line. The new Havoc is a much more solid blend of sound quality and durability than the other sub. Looking at the old specs the Xmax is definitely suspect too. Ill have to pull the recone file for that one, but I was thinking more along the lines of 19-20 mm of Xmax with the flatwind that was used. Thanks, Scott

    Fi accessories

Belts and keychains are coming. Both machined in house. We are working through a few finishes on things to see what we like best. Just something else to keep the machines always slinging fluid and cutting chips. I just added 2 more shirt designs and we have another 2 shirts we are working on as well. Hats and beanies up first though. Banners and stickers as soon as I have time to get them all sorted too. We are looking to hire another employee just to take care of this portion of things. Now in taking care of all sticker and banner duty in house, and getting things rolling with the pad printer and the heat press.... we definitely need someone specific just for this side of things. Thanks, Scott

Possible to change speakers if i havent even gotten a.....

No access to the ship list for the subs until I am back in the office tomorrow morning. Ill check to see where they are in the build/ship process. I am more inclined to go with a pair of BLs vs a single BTL12 or 15 as there is more cone area over the single BTLs, not too mention more coil area for cooling. My "tin" ears seem to like BTLs in many of the applications I have heard them in. Not sure about them sounding like crap. Thanks, Scott

    New BTL

Was yours the one that had the broken magnet? If so, I think Nick had sent you over the tracker for it. Its on its way back to you Thanks, Scott

    CES Fi Style

That was a BL pole. SMD and BTL have a fair amount more work on them then that. A 22" SMD is remains to be seen. I have the drawings done and things quoted for tooling. We will wait and see how the first run of 15s and 18s do and go from there. Cadillac Matt... hmmm maybe we need to talk a little more. Mind making me some 22" cones in that monster autoclave you have in your garage??? No date for the 22" BTL. Im not a big fan of dates given unforeseen delays. Much rather pop them out on the site when they are available like usual. Things just got a little leaked about the 22", and I had to say something and post a pic to show its not vaporware...lol. Thanks, Scott

    SSD BRAND NEW!!!

We do take returns on unused products, but there is a fee associated with it as it will have to sit on a shelf until someone else orders the same combination of parts. In the case of a SSD12 D1 BP, that could be 6+ months as it is far from a common item. Especially now considering the colored dustcap option... if its not white or silver it could sit forever. Thanks, Scott

    Fi Q 12 dead

Please get the sub back to us ASAP and we will check things out and repair or replace it. Subsonic set to its max? What frequency is that vs your tuning? Fi Car Audio Attn: Warranty Dept 5480 Cameron St #108 Las Vegas NV 89118 Definitely not saying it is your fault or a setup issue (more a general comment on the current car audio DIY industry), but we do need to get a primer for how to set things up in a ported enclosure with respect to the amp and subsonic settings. With power becoming cheaper we are seeing more and more issues of over excursion below tuning when the enclosure unloads. Not too hard to hurt things mechanically in free air when that occurs. Thanks, Scott

    New Fi Subs

Not sure about an SSA email. Ill have to ask Mark. We have the 22" basket that was shown to a few during CES. We also have the IB2 series drivers that I need to add to the site. Really efficient 2" coiled IB drivers with 24mm of Xmax. Lower power handling than our IB3 series. I have been sitting on a little 12" "SQish" driver for the past year or so. It too has a 2" coil and 24mm of Xmax. Currently only in a 12" but I might do the 15" too as the specs are fairly good. I really need to pop out a poll and see if there is enough interest in it. When I originally had the X series no one was interested as they wanted larger option friendly drivers. With the economy the way it is... that seems to have changed a little with some emails (I want a sub for a lower powered application... or for my girlfriend). Time might be right to release that one too. Other than that, the things that are in the works will remain a mystery until we are ready to pop them out. Thanks, Scott

    ssd rms

If unsure I am always a fan of conservative settings. Get to know things for a little bit and then increase to a linear limit of the amp/sub/box combo if it seems like it will permit it. All to often people tend to max things out before a real break in and then dont know that things have changed both mechanically and electrically (the impedance rise of the driver will change) and what seemed good before is now erring on the side of a problem. Thanks, Scott

Fi Q w/ BP Power vs RE audio?

None. The Q with BP would most similar power and application wise to the 05 and down XXX. But VERY different designs. There really isnt many straight across comparisons to RE products. Q seems to keep up fine with an SX in output, and have a fair amount more SQ and bottom end to it as well. Thanks, Scott

put a hole in my dust cap

Yes you can. Looks a little thick, but works OK. Much easier that pulling things off.
