  1. You should look at FI they offer custom color dust caps for their subs. You can look at their SSD line or their X line. Both are under $200, and they sound pretty good and give good output. Also there basically custom built your way in the USA for reasonble prices.

i just checked it out. apparently there are new ssd's coming out so they don't have any information on that subwoofer. the x line there is info but looks like no option to select the color of the subwoofer.

  2. My original post did state that I want something decent. I don't need earth shattering bass but I don't want bass that sounds like pee wee herman's ass when taking a dump. I just find most subwoofers look bland.

Are you just talking about the cone? And why does it matter so much to base your decision on it?

Yes the cone. I'm building a show car ( I know budget shouldn't be a question when doing so but the line of work I'm in gives me access to some awesome sponsorships and parts at wholesale pricing. Wish I could get an audio sponsorship but haven't had luck so far)

So you would rather have a show car that looks cool but doesn't sound all that impressive?

There are plenty of well performing, good looking drivers... I don't see the reason to get all specific about the color of the cone...

  4. What's up guys I'm trying to look for some good looking 10's don't want to spend a whole lot but they have to be somewhat decent. Something along the lines of arc audios foose edition subwoofers in terms of looks. Gold, white, silver, gun metal are the colors I've been looking for. Help a brother out :) thanks!

  5. I wish i could ball on a budget as well as you lol your car shows you've got some skillz in that department!

Well I can't say I built the car all by myself. When it was a feature vehicle at sema for aem I got a few parts free or at cost. Working for an aftermarket performance online dealer does have it's perks in the sponsorship department :)

  6. Nice work on the car. look forward to the audio. I've used the HD amps quite a bit and I like them. I own one of JL's XD amps and it's pretty nice, but it doesn't have enough power, so if you need loud, count out the XD

I'm more into sound quality than loud. I've got a wife and baby that ride with me most of the time. I've been thinking of possibly even just one 10 inch woofer would satisfy me but i might end up going with two just to make it aesthetically proportional. I've got some entry level CDT audio components and i was thinking of putting in some entry level arc audio subwoofers, not only because i've read good things about them but they actually look really nice as well.

  7. I was also thinking the JL HD 900/5. It is very small for the Large power output it has. It looks very nice which would look great in your genesis. Great amp for your full setup, all 4 speakers and sub. It sounds like a perfect all in one amp for the setup you wanted.

Thank you for the suggestion guys :) I've been looking mostly at sundown and audique amps but i will definitely check this out :)

  8. Ever seen the turbo kit Lovefab did for the Genesis? If not check it out, it's pretty cool. Welcome to the site, I hope you enjoy your stay! I'm a little bit of a gearhead myself ;)

Yes! i'm actually a vendor on gencoupe.com under gctuner '

One of our close customers actually bought the Lovefab genesis coupe. I wish i had gotten the turbo myself but i just got a better deal on the v6 for some strange reason :)

  9. Hello Everyone! Stumbled upon this forum researching on Sundown Audio amps. My name is Jay. I work for Shop SFM / GCTuner the aftermarket performance side of Vertical Doors INC in Corona, CA (yeah the lambo door kit guys lol :woot: ) I've been modifying my ride since day one (Literally no stock day since ownership! :lol2: ) I'm in the market now to do a simple sub and amp setup (budget friendly & light weight if possible). I don't need super loud and prefer clean SQ sound. I'm super noobish especially when it comes to this department so I appreciate any and all help. For now I'll be trolling the site reading up on your guys' setups. Thank you very much!

Here's a few pics on my car build so far:
