  1. Hey I'm looking at upgrading my stock alternator to a 160 amp alternator. I want to run 1500 watts rms. I have a kinetik 2000 under my hood and 1/0 big 3. Is this electrical safe to run 1500 watts? I don't want to spend too much money and Im wondering if the 160 amp alternator is enough to power 1500 watts rms. Thanks guys. Project coming soon
  2. Yes. But do you think it's capable to handle 1500 watts rms?
  3. Nah this is for my 98 Nissan sentra. Sorry I didnt clarify
  4. It's from a local shop. 600 rpm=80 amps and 1200rpm=160 and voltage set point is 14.5v

    I can play the piano
  7. I plan on upgrading my battery (kinetik 1400) I want something a little bit bigger, enough to power about 1200watts rms easy. I am on a budget and see that the shuriken batteries are a little bit cheaper than optima, kinetik, and xs power. For you shuriken users, are they good batteries? ive read reviews saying they are awesome and just as good but if so why isnt everyone buying shurikens? It just sounds too good to be true. I am looking at a shuriken sk-bt1000 it's 100AH and 2250 crank amps and $225 way cheaper than the other batteries at same numbers. I'd like to know if this battery is long lasting and worth it or should I go with other brands? Don't want to waste any money
  8. Very well said. I guess in this situation it is favoritism. Because I know Angel loves sundown lol.

Awesome build! And who said single cab trucks can't have bass lol.
  11. Hi I am wondering if I should do the big 3 even though I'm not replacing my alternator. I have a 2005 Chevy 2500. I dont know my stock alternator's specs but I'm sure it can't be high. Should I do the big 3? I'm going to get either a kinetik 1800 or 2000 to put under my hood and I plan on running about 1200watts rms. If I do the big 3 should I use 4awg or 1/0awg? I don't know but I think 1/0 should be necessary of my alternator is stock.. But I dont know much either lol.

How to make two amps compatible?

Haha. Well the party was great. I got alot of compliments on the system. It sounded alot better than I had thought. I'm glad I went with the sa-8 than the RE audio rex. System still bumpin. Thanks for the help.
  13. I know this is a pretty dumb question but I just can't find the answer with my ongoing research. I plan to build a pretty nice home system for my poolroom so we can listen to some good music while we're in the pool. I've researched for bass I need a plate amp so I'll go with either a Dayton or a Bash. But for mids and highs I'll grab a 4 channel amp like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0013CH7UK/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1310571806&sr=8-1 But this is the part where I'm noobish, how do I make both amps work as one? As in play the same music? Im thinking just connect RCA's but not too sure. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your time! And for a in depth view of my plan I'll be running a 10 inch RE Audio Re-x 4 ohm rated 175wrms I'd figure I grab the Dayton 240 or Bash 300. And than 2 midrange speakers 2-4 super tweeters. (haven't decided) wrms around 150 at most per speaker/tweeter. Thank you all!
  14. Thanks everyone. Ok, I just ordered some Kicker 1/0 and terminals from sonicelectronix.com. I'll update if I need any more help.

How to make two amps compatible?

Thanks guys. I ended up buying some shelf speakers from best buy, it was a deal so I bought a pair got another pair free, so I have four speakers, I didn't buy the mid ranges and super tweeters (thank you Jesus!) lol I bought the sundown e8, the Dayton 240 plate amp, the Pyle 4 channel amp, and a y adapter. Installing everything today in my poolroom. I'll fill in on the setup and maybe get some pics. Party's tonight. YEAHHHH. lol thanks for the help guys.

Some open discussion on product development.

Very interested in the e series for my truck! I felt e8 was too small a pair of 12s would be nice in my truck
  19. Basically hifonics if you want to save money but sundown if you want long lasting. And honestly sundowns aren't that much more expensive if bought used but probably last alot longer than hifonics, especially at 1 ohm. But good luck bud ..
