  1. I just finished putting a 12" Dcon into the optimal 2.25 box and I'm simply blown away as well. I tell friends I bought a sub and they are like just 1 12"? SSA? Man you should of bought some kickers. I smile and play some decaf for them. I love watching their eyes bug out of their head when the bass drops. They are like it's a type a bass I've never heard before. I love this sub.

  2. Fuse the wire. What size wire are you using?

    8 gauge.

the fuse next to the battery is to protect the wire and should be rated according to wire size you have used (there is a chart on the12volt.com site) , in terms of external fuse for the amp, it should be close to the amp, if you are not sure if it's a 40 amps or 60 amps, use the smaller which is 40 amps and if it blows then upgrade to 50 then 60, thats how I would do it...

    Kk sounds good. Thanks.

  3. I recently purchased a 11zx300.1 for my dcon and I'm planning on installing it friday. After looking at the amp and reading the manual I am confused by this and want to see what you guys think. I already tried contacting kicker but they never responded. There are 2 20 amp fuses on the actual amp and the manual recommends a 60 watt external amp by the battery. From what I learned and have always done is match the fuses on the amp to the external one so 2x 20= 40 amp external by the battery. What do you guys think am I taking crazy pills or what? Also, The cadence amp kit that came with the amp has a external 50 amp fuse. Could I get by with this or should I buy 40 amp or stick with the 60 amp recommendation? Thanks for any inputs.

  4. So I should have a protein shake after a work out or before. I know ether way I get the protein, but do muscles start rebuilding immediately after a work out or does your body take awhile to start the process? Also I guess it would depend on how fast a person's body uses protein right?

If you can afford it do both. Make sure you have good protein powder though and not that wall mart garbage. With your pre workout shake blend it up with like a banana and peanut butter to get some carbs. Also make sure post you're slamming carbs too. And everyone uses protein the same the types of protein (whey, casein) depends on how fast your body absorbs it.

  5. HAT Imagines all the way. I have the Focal access A1's right now just for rear fill and Imagines in the front its absolutely crazy the difference between the two sets of speakers. I cut the front and sit in the back and demo the focals and then cut the back and demo the imagines and its insane how much the imagines beat them in every part of the spectrum, bass mid bass or treble. The imagines simply put them to shame.

  6. Well you're gonna have to do some sort of exercise if you want to see a drop of 15 lbs. Cutting out soda ( i don't know how much you were drinking) will definitely help but doing that alone will make you slightly more lean (1-5 lbs) not really shed fat upwards of 15 lbs. Id say start with a good diet. I could give you a good example but don't have time right now. Also make sure you hit the gym 3 times a week and weight train. Muscle burns twice as much calories as fat so cardio should be 2nd on your list behind weights. I dont care how much you work, you can find 4 hrs out of the week to go to the gym. You honestly dont even need cardio a good diet and weight training will shed fat like crazy. Good luck.

Really? Muscle burns twice as much as calories as fat? i did not know that. I always thought someone should do cardio over weight lifting to lose weight.

Yea it does. For long run fat loss muscle building us is key but for fast results in shedding fat cadio should be more emphasized.

  7. Your putting to much power to them and one is failing before the other. You have a 1500 watt rated amp on 600 watt rated subs. If the popping noise goes away with a lower gain setting it was to high to begin with.

But the gain is set 1/4th the way up. It's hardly turned up. If I turn it down anymore, It hardly even hits. We tuned the amp with a DMM also.

1/4 gain does NOT mean 1/4 power. I had the same exact amp and my gain wasn't even 1/8 of the way up to get the full ~1500 watts. The gain is used to match hu voltage output.

Ahhh I don't know what to do then. I just know that if the amp gain is turned much lower the subs sound like they have almost no power.

Do you have the bass boost knob plugged in?

Yes, I have a bass knob.

Tuned the amp with it to max.

Unplug and re-tune. Do not use the knob and make sure it is unplugged.

If he tuned the amp with a dmm and the bass knob at full power unplugging it is going to solve nothing...

  9. Do not base your amplifier purchase on the crossover slope.

If the only crossover I had was in the amplifier then I would definitely use the crossover features (including slope) as one of the determining factors on which amplifier to buy.

I feel that steep slopes are to be used to protect tweeter damage when used at lower than recommended frequencies. Driver selection and placement should be consisted first. Using a low pass filter with 24db/octave slope on a subwoofer really isnt beneficial for anything. Depending on the install, a 24db slope may prevent a good blend with midbass drivers and prevent the bass from not sounding locatable.

I would not use a 24db/octave slope on a subwoofer or any driver unless absolutely needed.

Ultimitley it depends on your listening goals.

Awesome. Thanks for the clear explanation.

  10. I used to use a rockfod fosgate P300.1 on my first dcon.

I was looking at that amp as well, seems to have many good reviews. How did it preform with your dcon? Overall good results?

It performed great and is still going in some other persons car along with the dcon 10.

Awesome looks like I'm purchasing this amp. What gauge wire would you recommend? Rockford says 4 do you think I could get away with true 8 gauge or no?
