    avalanche 15" subwoofer driver problem

You recently had those drivers shipped to you. What were they packaged in?

    IXL-18.4 Build

There's enough air moving right now as it is! When sitting in the middle of the couch and a bass note hits, it's like being physically punched in the chest! Life is good!

    IXL-18.4 Build

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, Atlases and IXL's all work together. Crossovers are at 80hz for all of them.

    IXL-18.4 Build

I finally finished my IXL 18.4 HT subs. I went with 12 cubic feet tuned to 16 hz. Here are a few pics of the build. Case contruction. Bracing. Foam lining installed. Test fitting the triple ports. The sub magnet butts up against the center horizontal brace. Final assembly. Subs in place along the back wall of my HT. Next is grill construction. I glued scraps from the build into a 24 inch square 1.5 inches thick. I cut the inside circle just a hair smaller then the diameter of the sub. I sanded it until it snuggly fit over the sub. The sub frame is 1 inch wide and the outside is rounded over with a 3/4 inch round over bit. Test fit on the sub. Painted the grill frame flat black. I had some stretchy grill cloth from a previous build. Hot glued the fabric onto the grill frame and trimmed off the excess. Final product. Grills installed. Painted the port screws flat black. All done! Retired Shiva sonotubes. I also have a pair of Ascendant Audio Atlas 15's. one on each side of the couch. They are 10 cubic feet tuned to 17hz. From behind the couch looking forward. Now it's time to replace the RPTV with a projector. That will be my next project. I have always wondered what it would be like to have enough low end. I don't have to wonder anymore. These subs are awesome. The Atlas subs "strained" at loud passages on movies. With the IXL's now added to the pack, the bass is effortless! What a difference! I'm loving it! Thanks Mark for such a great product!

    Fatmat is a hoax......

Steve said that FatMat was a "rubberized mastic". I was curious what the MSDS would say.

    Fatmat is a hoax......

Got an email back from Steve. Posting the MSDS sheet for FatMat is not going to happen. I was informed that it is for employees only, thier current consumer products are not hazardous when used as intended, additional information regarding Hazard Communication can be found at www.osha.gov, and this is probably why you don't see the other manufactures of sound deadening supplying them. I tried.

    Second request sent to steve@fatmat.com

    Welcome to the IHoP

If you requested a total from the seller through ebay and didn't receive one, you have nothing to worry about. There should be a record of the requested total. Hopefully , if he did send a total, it didn't get caught in a spam filter somewhere.

    Fatmat is a hoax......

Is that info on the Fatmat site? I can't seem to find it. Could you link to it? Thanks. All I can find is a reference to "rubberized".

    Fatmat is a hoax......

Interesting reading on the http://www.galcosales.com/ site. Click on the "mfm" icon, then the "Specifications" tab on the right hand side, then click on the "Downloadable Specifications" for "Peel & Seal". Notice the "rubberized asphalt" description. Of course I'm in no way suggesting this has anything whatsoever to do with Fatmat! )

    good box for spl12?

You must be thinking of some other sub. The test box was 3.8 cubic feet and Mark said 2.5-3 would be fine. Post #22. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...12410&st=15

    Help check my math.

Your numbers are right. Someone else will have to recommend the best one for a daily driver as I'm not familair with the Maw 10. The recommended tuning is 29 hz according to the website.
