    SAZ-3000D POWER TESTING

if the msrp is 1200 then Im guessing the shelf price will be around 850? will the pre-order or introduction price be lower than 800 shipped? Please say yes....I want 2 for the Cutty but that 1200 would rape my pockets.

Which amp for a BL 18

NEITHER! Get u a Autotek SS1900.1D. 1900watts rms@ 1ohm. Try the ebay....its only around the mid 300 dollar range if its even that much. Dont get cute and get the MM2000.1D because that amp puts out around 2500rms and will be too much for that BL.

2-15" BLs vs 1-18" BTL with the same power

I would but 3.5ft3 -4ft3 after displacement is the biggest I can go and thats kind of small for a 15 but it will do but for a 18.....nah. Id atleast wanna do 5ft3 for a 18
  4. Which would be louder? (Daily) 1. (2) fully loaded BL15s with about 3.2ft3 and 50sq" of port "each" tuned to 33Hz..... with a Hifonics Collosus (3200rms x 1@2ohm) so that would be about 1600rms each. or 2. (1) Fully loaded BTL18 with about 7ft3 and 120sq" of port tuned to 33Hz......pushed off of a Hifonics Collosus also. Going in a 2dr Explorer Sport

    Hd 62 CDT comp set

the HD-62 is pretty good, but the HD-62US really reigns supreme. It takes quite a bit of power and gives u excellent some if placed right. They are expensive but well worth it. Im going with the HD-62US M6 which upgrades ur 6.5" woofer to a more powerful 6.75" woofer, a 1" silk main tweeter and a 0.75" upstage tweeter.....the specs say 250watts rms with a 100Hz high pass but Imma run mine at 80Hz with about 250rms because I personally know that it will take 300rms and up if you set it up right.
  6. Which do you guys think would push a pair of fully loaded dual 2ohm BL 15s better between the 2amps here; the MM4000.1D(2000rms x 2 @1ohm or 4000rms x 1 @2ohm) or 2-SAZ-1500Ds(Id prefer to run them strapped @0.5ohm)? Electrical system would be able to sufficiently run either or.
  7. Now see.......thanks man, that was alot of help SPLBlazer. I appreciate that. Thats the exact kind of info I was looking for. So basically I cant really go wrong with either one. That 3800rms @13v @2.8ohm aint bad at all especially considering its only 13v. Im sure my alt would keep my voltage up around 13.8-14.4v. Juice wouldnt be a problem for either way I go. But with a pair of dual 2ohm BLs(1.5ohm coils) I can series them together to get a 1.5ohm load but with rise Id be right at 2ohm or a lil higher.
  8. HawaiianCrackHead, I do believe I was the first to mention the Big3 sooooo whtever. Gotslap, the Autotek wouldnt be ran at 0.5ohm. I was saying if I went with the Sundowns that they would be 0.5ohm each (inotherwords 1ohm strapped is what I meant).

    2 BTL 15 or BL

If It were me Id say get all the options. I was in the same boat ur in trying to figure out if I wanted the BLs or BTL 15s to go in my 87' Cutlass (subs up/ portback trunked daily setup tuned to 32Hz). Ive decided to do the fully loaded BTLs with 2-Orion HCCA D5000 amps and a Orion HP-2800 on my mids and highs. That Orion should give me right around 2800-3000rms per sub. But in ur case, I would have atleast gotten the whole cooling option because the chamfer would have been included anyway.
  13. no, No, NO! I have ran quite a bit of power before and Im certainly not an idiot. Only a idiot would make a reply like u did calling people names and chit and didnt even read the whole thing. If u werent playing with urself u would have read that I was only talking about 320-400 amps of draw. Ur talking about 800amps of draw. Plus Im gonna have 1-HC800 under the hood and 2-HC2400s in the rear with a 220amp Iraggi and several runs of welding cable. So ur the idiot if u though u were going to run 2 Autoteks with a MARINE battery and a pair of Kinetiks because Imma be running that same amount of batteries with half of the amperage draw u had and ur so stupid u still think that Imma have dimming just because u didnt know that U! needed more juice. (flicks this flea off of his nuts) Before u make smart comments ask first

    New Prototypes! Pics.

Well can u give us a ballpark of when the release of the 3000d will be on pre-sale? Need to scrap up before it comes cuz I think I may have just found a new best friend with the 3000d. Oh and what kinda fuse rating would this take? and would these be strappable @1ohm?

    Sundown amps and Fi subs?

Well my next question is pricing. What do u think I can get 2 of em and a 100.4 for? If u dont wanna say then send it to me through a PM

mounting depth on a 15" BTL

I see that the mounting depth on the 15" BTL is 8.25"; so Im assuming the mounting depth with the 3rd mag would be a inch more @ 9.25"? Would 1/2" between the back of the woofer and the enclosure be enough to let the sub vent? Cuz 1/2" is all I can do

    Sundown amps and Fi subs?

600 watts will be around a 0.6 dB difference in an ideal situation in this case. With power compression figured in then you might see 0.3 dB difference between 2 ohm strapped and 1 ohm strapped. You can strap them at 1 ohm if you want... plenty of people do. But like I said, the gain is minimal and you won't notice much difference other than increased electrical draw unless this is for competition and those few tenths will matter -- you most certainly won't be able to tell with your ears. Oh the electrical system draw would be far from a problem.....Im just wondering if they would hold up on daily usage strapped @1ohm? So if I wanted to strap @1ohm.....I would need dual 1ohm subs series'd right? Making 1ohm when they are together. So Im understanding now....whatever load u send to the amp it will be half of that ohm load per amp. So if Im strapping them @1ohm each amp is really @0.5ohm? Im cool with the extra power draw though, I want as much out of em as possible
  19. what u mean....a discount on the Sundowns? or Autotek? We dont carry Autotek. I just meant, if you were to choose Sundown. Dudue from Sundown keeps telling me to get dual 2ohm subs and strap em @2ohm which will only give me around 1500 per sub. I wanted a lil more wattage than that. Im thinking now the Autotek may be my best bet because if would be around the same price as what I would get 2 sundowns for and Id have a whole 1000rms more.

    Sundown amps and Fi subs?

(in laymans terms) If I wanted to run the Sundowns then I would have to run dual 1ohm subs and series them to get a final 0.7ohm load between the 2 subs which in otherwords would be a 0.35ohm with rise Im sure that will move to 0.5ohm load per amp I would suggest using dual 2 ohm woofers in series/parallel to strap them at 2 ohms, meaning 1 ohm per amplifier (0.7 DCR). Since you read the testing you will see that the difference between a 1 ohm strapped pair and 2 ohm strapped pair is only 600 watts... which is NOT worth the 4% decrease in efficiency and increased wear and tear on the amplifiers for anything but competition purposes. No offense to the sundown amps at all but if I can only strap em @ 2ohm then I might be better off with another amp because I wouldnt be happy with the output @ that ohm load. I was trying to get atleast 1800-2000rms per sub. If I strap em @2ohm then I would only be getting around 1500rms per sub. I appreciate ur help though

    Sundown amps and Fi subs?

Quick question; The new BLs (dual 2ohm) are really dual 1.5ohm. I wanted to strap 2-1500ds down to a 0.5ohm load. so if 2 dual 2ohm BLs were paralleled together then that would give me a 0.5ohm load but by them really being 1.5ohm coils then my load would be 0.425ohms. Im guessing with rise the amps would be alright? The electrical system would be more than enough. A 220amp Iraggi alt (175amps@idle), a Kinetik HC800 under the hood, 2-Kinetik HC2400's in the trunk, with 1 run of 2/0awg welding cable, 1/0 awg Knukoceptz Collosus wire to the SAZ-1500Ds, and 4guage Lightning Audio Strike cable going to the SAZ-100.4. I see the testing thats been done on a strapped pair of 1500ds and Im pretty impressed. So would it be safe to say that if I had a pair of 1500ds strapped with that electrical system pushing behind it, that my amps would give more power than what the other guy got out of his because he was playing his with the car off?
