UPS showed me some love yesterday before I headed into work. Refurbished and doesnt have a scratch on it. The only thing is it didnt have a birthsheet....so I may take it somewhere this week to get it benched. average birthseets range around 320rms x 2 @ 2ohm which is how I'll be running this on 4-4" Dayton midranges.

Thanks to Sean we did some power testing on the SAZ-3000D yesterday. Power testing was done on two RE MT 15" woofers, dual 1 ohm coils (0.7 ohm DCR) with a rise to around 0.87 ohms at our test frequency.Power Output at Maximum Volume before Protection:
67.4 volts
77.1 amps
5196 watts
Power supply voltage was 16.5 volts at rest dropping to around 14.5 volts.
Our clamp meter ran out of steam at 400 amps so we measured efficiency at lower levels:
3294 watts @ 84% efficiency (252 amps draw)
3938 watts @ 81% efficiency (316 amps draw)
4424 watts @ 74% efficiency (392 amps draw)
We didn't have an electrical setup to run 12.8 volt testing available at this time.
So say I wanted to run 2 of these really bad but I had 2 dual 1ohm subs meaning I wanted to strap them @ 1ohm daily (music). Could it be done with a 250amp alt, a Deka Intimidator 9A78DT up front, 3-Deka Intimidator 9A31s near the amps and 2 runs of 2/0? Plus with that much current draw...would the 300amp anl support that 392 amp draw ur showing?

so little but so much said, lol. Think the extra $700 will probably pay off in the end.....might as well go with the 7K.

Got 2-12" BTLs the old versions. Im trying to make up my mind on what to power them with between a AT-5000.1D or the AT-7000.1D. Its only going to be a daily blowthrough in a '97 Thunderbird. Which do u think I aught to go with? If I went with the 5K Id be saving needed space due to less batteries. If I went with the 7K its a $400 difference in price and Id have to get an extra rear battery on top of the ones I already plan to run.

Just as well off as getting a chinese alt and slapping the module on it...Chris has been running around for a LONG time with the module on his 2400's..no issues. Brad has had one on his truck for 8 years now i believe...hasn't killed his lead acid battery. I'd trust Brad before I trusted anybody else...one of the most intelligent gentleman i've ever had the pleasure to meet in my life, and the scary part is he uses his intelligence...and it makes sense .
well let me ask you, what is so wrong with Iraggi and Reman? Everybody on here has said they are chit but cant give me a reason why or either they've never used them personally. I know this site is affiliated with Powermaster but that doesnt mean that Powermaster, Ohio, Mean Green are the only people who can make a good alt.

now PowerMaster XS batteries are a different story. I do think they have the best batteries.

2 of the guys I know with Remans got ride of powermaster alts for the Reman and the other got an Iraggi. 1 of the guys with the Reman alt (300amp); he ran a lil less amount of power Im going to be running with 4 of the same batteries Im running and without a voltage regulator his voltage stayed around 14.9 and rested @ 14.3v at full tilt. Id get an Iraggi before I run a Mean Green or Ohio. Lol, I forgot this was a bias forum. Cuz if I asked the same question on a Bosch or autozone site, they would say the same thing about Bosch and Autozone. Im not paying $500+ for a alt when Iraggi and Reman sells them for my car for around $350-$400 shipped.

Im getting my stuff together to start on my install. Plan on a 250amp RemanMotorCity alternator. Ordering a Atomic AT-7000.1D and a few Clarion amps for my highs. Thinking of going with a Missing Link regulator, 1-Deka Intimidator 9A31 under the hood and 3-in the rear less than 1 foot from my big amp. So thats 4 batteries and Im using 4/0 welding cable for 2 runs to the rear. do u guys think I'll be ok? this is a dailyOther than that craptastic alternator you picked out.. I'd add one more battery.
Ive thought about a dual alt setup but I cant find a dual bracket for my car. And so far as the Reman alt...I know of 3 people who have had nothing but success and good things to say about them. Ive heard several negative things about EA, I cant get a answer from Ohio plus I think the are on dope with some of the prices Ive seen.

I just bought two more. . .where?

I just bought 4 of them today. Glassing them in the bottom of the doors in my Thunderbird. Using 2 in each door as a dedicated midbass from 80Hz-350Hz with about 80watts rms. Using 2 sets of these 4" comps for front bandpass and front high. 1 set in the factory opening and the other set glassed in the A-Pillars. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NS8VHw4tHDH/A...X1414&g=410

Im thinking of going with these guys. The guy I bought my BTLs from had a 300 amp and he was very pleased. Said his voltage stay up around 14.3 @ full tilt. http://www.motorcityreman.com/ I want that 250 amp for my Thunderbird

I dont know this might just be what Im looking for after all if u say Im good up to 200Hz....possibly would need a stronger midrange. Would I get the 8 with the plain cone or with the logo? Im looking for a midbass to keep up with 2-BTL 12s. Im trying to do a active 3way with 1 pair of tweets and a 3-4" midrange in the A-pillars, another pair of tweets and a 3-4" mid in the factory door location, and 1 pair of 8s @ the bottom of the door. (2dr vehicle) With a rating of 200rms this might just be it and the price is really whats making me want to go with these. How much longer is the pre sale?

like em but I was looking for something more thats good from 70Hz- 300Hz in a 7 or 8" that can handle around 150-200rms. I know you are trying to sell your product but do u have any suggestions?

Im looking for a nice plain looking mid bass to run in a active 3way. Do u think this would be good from 70Hz-250Hz maybe even 300Hz? And is the pre order still open, if so how should I go about ordering 2?

Ike sound is pretty hit or miss on service. I would find another seller.anyone know how I can contact flak about one of the new merlins?
pm him.

Hey has anyone purchased a merlin md3d from Ikesound? Are they a reputable dealer? I was browsing and found that they have the new model md3d for $500.00.How did I know he was talking about Ikesound too. Lol. I purchased 2 L7-12s back in 03' but I didnt have anyproblems with the subs so I dont really know how their service is first hand. It was a simply ebay buy. I see where alot of people who have had problems with them selling refurbs at new prices, cant get them to hold up warranties, product not really in stock etc.

not properlyso what will be a better choice 4 ported 12's or three ported 15's
Id say 2-15s all day. U have plenty room and I use to own a 79 Buick as well so Im pretty familiar with Box Chevys. And to the guy who said his friend had 4-12s in a sealed enclosure that got loud enough....I bet if that guy had 2-high end 12s in the proper ported box.....it would have sounded just that much better too. Im also a East Coast Ryder and its like I tell alot of guys who ask "Can I fit this particular rim on this particular car?" with a bullsh*t lift. Yea, but just because it fits or works doesnt mean its right. If u go ahead and do it correctly from the start then it will save time and money in the end.
